Nice metaphor, but I'm afraid that you're being too kind, to attribute the problems just to a bunch of big boats, behaving in a neutral way. I'm afraid that what we really have are a bunch of big boats, intrinsically dangerous, but with a bunch of aggressive folks at the helm, who are happy and even trying to swamp the small craft (pun intended).

I don't buy a lot of Lagunitas stuff anymore anyway, but this is going to be a tough one for me. I've been drinking Laguntas beer for roughly 20 years now, back when I lived in Sacto and you could only get their beer in bombers (and they were renown for some of the hilarious prose they used to include on their label). It's going to be hard for me to adjust my perspective (though some of the BS comments I've been reading about the "buyout" is certainly making it much easier), but as has been said before (with regard to 10 barrel, Elysian, Goose Island, etc), there's plenty of great beer available in the NW, so dropping Lagunitas from my rotation isn't going to require any drastic sacrifice in my beer consumption pattern.

That's it isn't it? Even breweries who haven't sold out have been dropped from my rotation because there's only so much room in my beer fridge.
My beer dollars will go to a Holy Mountain or deGarde where it used to go for a Firestone Walker.
