Join the club. That describes a whole lot of people at DLD.

If anyone assumes that what happened in the past will happen in the future is a fool. They reserve the right to change their mind. I do not remember seeing that this was first come first served. True, there was a note stating that the varients were spread evenly, but as the chatter started about people standing in a staging line, they wised up and fixed the problem before it started.

They clearly understand business. Give everyone a good time and solve as many issues before they happen. They have learned from the past. If they sucked, there would not be a black market for the tickets nor would there be 10,000 or so people looking to shell out $180 PLUS another hondo or so.

Save yourself the money and buy one on the secondary market if Handjee is the main/only reason you're going.

So you're saying expecting an event to lay out it rules and procedures before tickets go on sale is unreasonable?

It's like Lollapalooza. People are forced to pay for tickets before they even know who is playing that year. You pay and hope you don't get stuck with trash.

Where did it say anyone was ever guaranteed their choice of bottles even if they were 1st in line for any given group?

Love how they are now forcing people that miss their group to wait until after ALL groups have finished to pick up bottles. This was an issue since the ticketed system started. The lines would get longer and longer with every group as people that mised their slot would just in later lines.

    Bravo to 3 Floyds!

There are going to be some unhappy folks with the vintage bottles. I will enjoy my day but disappointed with the late announcement

But you can also wait until the lineup is released and buy single day tickets.

I think he is saying handjee was no guarantee in group A even under first come first serve. Look how many group As got in late year because of the North gate only to find out a majority of group Bs had already picked up their allotment .

I mean there's a lot less wild reasons why this is annoying.

I bought a Group A ticket, solo, based on the procedure that was posted when the ticket sales went live. My group wanted a good variant, and I was able to slide into A which, at the time, more or less ensured I'd be able to get us one.

Then it changed to even split FCFS. That's cool, I'll make sure to get there early and we'll still get that cool variant. Maybe a handjee, maybe a FVM, who knows. I'll make sure I'm there early enough that we don't get vintage.

Now it changed to even split random. That's also fine. My issue though? The rest of my group has tickets for Group B. And now I'm not going to be able to hang out in the bottle line with them, for no reason other than the fact that the rule changed. "I'll roll solo to get us the one we all wanted" turned into "I'll roll solo and good luck to all of us, I guess"

"We encourage you to pick up your Dark Lord allotments during your assigned group time. Guests who do not pick up their allotment during their assigned time are able to pick it up starting at 7 p.m., after Group E."
Based on this, you can't line up with a different group, unless it's after Group E for what's left.

Damn. Now if you missed your group time you have to wait until after group E at 7pm. I just noticed that.

This is still in the FAQ's...
WILL I BE GUARANTEED TO GET DARK LORD RUSSIAN-STYLE IMPERIAL STOUT?

Yes, provided you enter during your group time, or any of the following groups. You will only be able to pickup your beer during the day of the festival. We will not provide bottles before or after the festival. The brewery will not provide bottles to those who left the festival prior to collecting their allocation. Three Floyds will not be replace lost or broken bottles.

The question after that states the "After group E starting at 7..." Their website updates are Busch league.

Not much of a difference between this and scratch offs, really.

EDIT. Forgot that these beers are already paid for. At least when they did the scratch offs, you didn't have to pay for a beer you didn't want.

The totes with the vintage bottles will only be handed out when the variants for that group are gone, correct?

Or is it 100% random - as in the very first person in line could ultimately get vintage bottles?

Said no one ever. Our entire history of Western Civilization is based on people assuming what has happened in the past will happen in the future.
