Have not been back to my alma mater since I graduated, and I've always meant to.

Maybe a beer run is what can finally get me to do it! :grinning:

just left the ram, crowlers were 9.99 each and it is the OG first bloom, which is tasty, and the mango was def a nice treat to try! Not at Shauns level but nice to see the attempts and results are good

A new offering from Forbidden Root at last! Making my way there this weekend for a couple glasses.

First bloom and mango/vanilla first bloom are good. If you go to get them, you won't be disappointed.

Count me as another that doesn't really care for Simcoe in this style. Too much pine/earth dominance for me. Salute Your Simcoe is still very good, and very easy drinking, but it's hard to complete with Citra/Mosaic/Galaxy/El Dorado/Motueka combos for my taste preference of the style. I understand availability and contracts and all that, but not every hop combo needs showcased in a NEIPA. I think that's my problem with Hubbard's last V1 (I know it doesn't have Simcoe, just multiple other varieties) that everyone else seemed to love.

Well, then a stop at Triptych will be the high light of your trip . Drinking Dat Dust right now. Damn fine. You'll want to try that if you can. Might just be that it's Friday evening and I'm sitting in the sun having one, but I think I like it better than Dank and Really Dank. I'll need to replicate this study multiple times before I can say that for sure...

Let me know if you do. Riggs Beer Company in Urbana is worth a stop over too for some good German styles.

Yeah, I just couldn't get into it. I thought it was a mess of a beer, to my palate.

Seriously, First Bloom is legit. I wasn't able to try the new version that was tapped today, but this stuff is worth making the trip for!

If anybody has tried Unwind Your Mind from the latest Hop Butcher releases, it's damn good. It's not marketed as NE IPA, but it's probably the closest to the style they've come in awhile.

    Really juicy, I'd recommend it!

It's 7.5% - and it definitely has some fruity characteristics. More mango and pineapple instead of citrus

I suggest going to forbidden root if you've been looking for an excuse to go. Their recent pale ale is tasty.

Having a growler of the Old Irving...tastes like a slightly above average wheat IPA to me. The mosaic shines more than the citra, which I don't like but many here will. Overall, drinkable but not nearly fruity enough for me & very dry.

    One idiot's opinion.

Why is no one taking about Nantucket Gold from Forbidden Root???? This one is better than both of the 2 corridor brews that dropped (which were both phenomenal). Just got a growler delivered.

1- Corridor announced well in advance their NEIPA release a day or two earlier than this.
2- GDDC came out of Friday
3- All the city folks in this forum went to those releases. Burb folks went to Miker...
4- Poor job of promoting the release on Forbidden Root. Think they came on here to announce it after everyone already planned for the other releases. No twitter announcement, no blog post, have to stumble upon their instagram page to hear about it.
    5- Not branded a NEIPA....

20 bucks says you haven't actually had the beer we're talking about...

Why would I? I was drinking Corridors and HAs releases like everyone else. No one can talk about a beer they haven't heard of. You asked a question, I answered it. If you don't want to hear the answer, don't ask the questions...
