My wife and I are headed to Brussels from Brugge tomorrow morning and are hoping to be at 3F around 10-1030. We'd be interested in joining for the tour if it works out. Hoping to be there from opening and then head to Cantillon. Would be interested in splitting bottles with anybody at both places.

Hi all, this is my first toer and I'm booked onto one of the Horal coaches. A couple of questions:

    1. What are people's thoughts on de Lambiek museum? Is it literally a museum or is there opportunity to try some beers? It's the first stop on our bus but I'm wondering whether I'd be better off making my way to another brewery.
    2. If I did make my own way, is it possible to re-join the coaches later in the day? Or do you have to be there for the duration?

    thanks for your help

De Lambiek has a cafe with quite a large selection of lambics from the breweries/blenders most in 375 bottles. Definitely worth spending some time there sampling some from the places the bus won't be visiting.

Great toer yesterday. I was only a little disappointed in 3F where everything took a little longer than it should have to.

Most happy about De Cam and their new beers!

Yeah, what a weekend. Good to be back in Sweden again.

The new De Cam offerings were really nice as was the stuff at Oud Beersel. I agree with you on 3F but I did enjoy the shipping service there. 2 big boxes of goodies is on the way here without me having to drag it around.

Haha, yes, that was brilliant. I can't imagine the others not jumping on this idea come the 2019 edition.

    Great weekend.
Enjoyed DeCam and chat with Karel. Great passion for his craft.
Oude Beersel & Tilquin, Boon also great. Boon had lots of tasting options which was fantastic to taste time on several lambik and gueze and some single vat selections.
Tilquin seemed to have best party feel to the place.
highly recommend. Would skip DeLembeck and go other day. Precious time when these places are open.
Toured lindemans and Cantillion off weekend. Lindemans Nice to see ten more foeders just installed and hot wort in coolship. Room was a sauna
Cantillion great crowd for bottle shares.

Sadly De Cam was probably the worst experience of TdG for us. We wanted to try the two new fruited lambics so bought a bottle of each and opened them there... both were barely drinkable. Karel just posted on FB that the bottles need a year before opening (all the bottles we purchased, both the ones we opened there and the ones we took home, were bottled in Feb or March, way to young to be drinking) yet no one behind the counter said that, and they had glassware for drinking the bottles on site. If you don't think your product is ready to be consumed, don't sell it for consumption.

I really liked De Cam (that straight lambic Karel pulled from the barrel might be the best I've tasted) but i understand how you could feel disappointed by the bottles you opened. I just cracked a Nectarine there and it was very nice. Bought the new ones too but was planning on saving them a while anyway.
