    1) make your own 6 pack or single beers
    2) selection. specifically belgains like gueze but many of the 'top rated' here on beeradvocate i would like to try. which store has the most of these two selections? I've been to wine library and it wasn't that great.

please rank them according to the two beer types i've specificed (belgian gueze and the top rated here on beer advocate)

otherwise it is HARD to find a lot of craft beers listed here in the states. feel like it might be better to take a uero trip

Liquor outlet boonton is my favorite. You can see what they have on beermenus

Bottle King in Livingston is OK for the Gueze but on one has a lot of the top rated beers.

If you're willing to drive over the border into NY, Cable Beverage in Bardonia has a decent Belgian selection and lets you build your own six pack.

yeah, nowhere near me is good for singles... while bottle king and gary's both have a limited selection of singles, its usually cast-offs, or singles eventually make it there when a beer has already been out for a while... I can kind of see why, if I think of how many times I would not have bought a whole 4 or 6 pk after trying just one, is has to be net negative for a retailer in most cases...

I think NYC it is. Yelping some of the beer company names with the tag beer brought it up. Good way to search for availability

Just to clarify a bit further, I bet what @dennis3951 was getting at was how so many of the top beers are limited releases that you won't be able to get at any store, no matter the location.

I'll second the Cable Beverages rec for singles, Belgian and American wild ales, and even overall selection. Just go into it knowing that they're a quirky and disorganized type of place.

There are definitely great shops in NYC, and you'll be able to get some really excellent local beers there, but they just may not be the most talked about releases, that's all.

If you do head up north to Cable in Rockland County, at least there are no tolls to contend with.

Cable isn't in NYC. It's about 45 minutes north in a town called Bardonia. I'm not sure where you're coming from in NJ, but the only tolls you'll have to pay are probably on the GSP.

I'm not sure if you're looking for specifically Belgian beers or sour beers (since you mention geuze), but Cable has a shelf dedicated to each. The place can be kind of intimidating on first glance because it looks like what would happen if you gave a beer hoarder unlimited storage space and budget, but the owners are really helpful and can help you find what you need.

I'm going to try Cable Beverages out myself, I live near Wayne. It is about a half hour drive for me. I will give my two-cents on their selection after I visit.

While not in NJ, The Growler and Gill in Nanuet, NY has a solid selection and 24 rotating taps.

Grab wings, a beer or three and a few bottles is the way to go.
