I emailed FFF about the staging area and about checking-in with guests in other groups. Since there's a designated group A queue line now and my wife (group A in her name) and I have to split and check-in with our guests (group E in my name) I was wondering if we can check-in in the staging area, swap tickets after checking-in, and my wife and I can get in the group A line. I'm hoping it's set up to where there are multiple people checking people in and after they're checked in they can get in a "regular" line that starts at the gate, get in the group A line, and/or get breakfast, coffee, or whatever.

That's kind of what I'm hoping for I look forward to their response

Are any Group A'ers planning on a later arrival given the random allocation? We ended up booking a 9a shuttle, but I'm wondering if it gives us enough time to get to FFF from Jak's and get in (and potentially through) the lines.

Their FAQ says if you miss your Group time, you have to wait until 7p after all groups are done.

There's no way I would take a 9 am shuttle if I were in Group A. That leaves you an hour to get through the line and into the bottle pickup area. Perhaps it is possible, but with the one gate this year, I'm not counting on the festival entrance line going that fast.

Ya, I would contact your shuttle, explain the change from FFF (they probably already know), and get on an earlier shuttle. Unless you're cool with waiting until 7

Thats the issue with the shuttles this year. FFF moved the festival up an hour but the shuttles kept their earliest trips as if the fest still starts at 10.

Even though they say all sales are final... I was on the Jaks 8A shuttle, they let me cancel my order once the variant changes started happening.

What's the point of even having groups with this new process?

You'd literally be in line all day.

Hopefully with bag checks starting at 6, it'll help with this, but it doesn't seem worth the risk.

Yeah, I'd assume it's to split up the allotment pickups across the day. That said, I don't see the point in "evenly dividing variants across all groups" if its completely random. That's just more work for them for no real reason.

    1. To keep DL pickup lines from getting absurdly long, and creating a somewhat staggered arrival time for all DLD attendees
    2. To crush the dreams of Group A'ers that thought they were hot s***

What he said. Having groups for allotment pick-up keeps the line moving fast and keeps people out in the fest where they can be spending money.

Sorry if this was already asked but do you guys see any issue with bringing flip top growlers to share in line? I don't expect to take the empty home with me... thinking of bringing a HF Double Galaxy growler and maybe a Foam growler to give out random pours of

Yummmmmmmmm...as long as it's before you enter the grounds you're fine. It's bye bye once you try to cross the gates though.

They are fine outside of the fest (waiting to get in), but I don't think you will be able to walk in with one even if it's still sealed.

Does anyone remember if they do punch the tickets at the gate (and if so, is it a unique shape or anything)? I know someone who screwed up and double booked himself this weekend and he's trying to figure out if he can somehow get someone to pick up his bottles so it's not a total loss.

Group A I'm taking the 8am shuttle from Jaks Tap with my roommate (ticket is Group C in my name). Trying to figure out if I need to get there earlier, shuttle should get there by 9. Line could get absurd, even with starting to check IDs and bags at 6am and a separate line for Group A (which I may not be able to line up in because of my other C ticket)

Not entirely sure what to do. CANNOT stay there til 7 to pick my allotment up...

I remember last year, no one punched or tore anything until I got my allotment. I got the tag torn upon getting the 4 regulars and the punch once I got my variant.
