Allowing people "in" at 6am is a genius move. That way they can get a large majority of ID's and tickets checked before the event officially begins. FFF deserves praise for that, that being said I wish they would stop changing things because I have no idea how to plan appropriately when the event changes every year.

 

This worked last year unless you had a bag. Luckily from being in line at 6am I had shared everything cool I brought to share and didn't feel like carrying a bag anymore, so I dropped my alottment and the beers I had left in the car and waltzed back in. If you brought a bag back in, security put you back in line.

 

Even that would be too nerve racking.

At DLD being this drunk is definitely possible.

 

I know your page number references are just bullshit, but there's a small part of me holding out hope that you have a beautiful mind-esque series of notes on all the useless information in this thread.

 

I re-entered thru the exit at North with a bag and did not get put back in line, they did direct me to the table to check my bag again. was a breeze.

 

Yes - ANY time you come in with a backpack you'll be re-inspected, even if it's at 8:40pm..

 

There were two gates last year however.

I'm thinking that saying a large majority of people will be checked in by 9 is a bit of a stretch. A large majority of approx 10,000 is what, say 7,000?

Right, but that should not have mattered for re-entry unless it was screwed up at the north gate like the initial entry line was there.

 

I'd say roughly 3 hours worth of people that would have been in line.
I'm hoping at 9am the line isn't a 1/8 mile long.

 

Will this type of bag be a problem? Don't feel like getting a backpack and want to keep my allotment in something other than the tote bag they will give us.

It all depends on how efficient the staging area is. If they have people come up to say a line of tables in the staging area where you walk up and get your tickets checked and wrist bands put on and can the mosey around or get into a line to get in I think it'll work quite well. If they only open the staging are up to allow "X" amount of people to get pre-checked I don't see it working too well.
Bag check will have to be done upon entering the gate into the fest.

 

My hard drive is, as they say, full - so it's generally one bit in, one bit out.

 

What time are my fellow group C's thinking about getting there? My friend and I are driving back home afterwards to Cincy so we can't drink that much but we'll definitely have a couple. Just trying to figure out a reasonable time to get there to grab our bottles and mosey around the grounds for a bit before we leave.
