Having had a bunch of their beers, I think some of it is as good as the best stuff OH puts out. With that said, there are some janky beers they put out as well. Interboro strikes me as being in a very similar position. Some of their beers have been excellent while some are serious duds.

This is 100% accurate regarding Magnify. They have a high ceiling but nowhere near Other Half in terms of consistency. The consistency is what makes Other Half's IPA's easily the best in the city IMO.

I find myself being increasingly turned off from OH beers because of an intensely abrasive mineral taste. I especially thought this with the last batch of DDH ACE. Anybody else noticing similar?

I guess I need to find new friends, I would not be able to unload 96 beers on them every week. I've seen people on here justify how this works out but if you're trading the beer that means you have beer coming back, so how the hell your fridge/liver can handle that I don't know.

3 4 packs of each would still be 2 cases in total, how is that not enough on a WEEKLY basis?

I got a bit of a metallic note on my last DDH ACE which wasn't there on the first few cans when I drank them week of release. I chalked it up to an off can but maybe it developed the off note over the weeks. Haven't really noticed this on any other OH beer though.

Example this week I Helped out 3 good friends and I personally wanted 3-4-4 Pks of Mylar. With the case limit I was able to mule for them. Unfortunately people are always going to resell and jack up prices on quality product with a high demand.. Me personally I think it's pretty shitty but it is what it is.

Meanwhile in an alternate universe...So is everyone excited for the release this weekend? Lots of swell, accessible, reasonably priced beers- but nothing tastes better than the camaraderie of our best friends and good neighbors on this weekly sudsy pilgrimage! Three cheers to these fine brewers, looking forward to another rewarding and easy beer run on Saturday!

Very nice post. Although I can't really agree with the "accessible, reasonably priced" part. Enjoy though!

Has anyone confirmed if any of Saturday's release will be a double batch? @Kanger?

Indeed- I do wonder if there's a brewery thread somewhere on this site where everyone is in agreement and happy about how things are going. Screw those guys!

We can all agree this is better than 3-4 years ago when the NYC beer landscape was considerably less interesting.

I am considering attending my first OH Saturday release event after visiting the brewery multiple times when in town. One person I talked to gets there at 5AM so they can be out by 10:15-10:30. I see a few earlier posts about arriving before 9:30AM...what should my expectations be about time in line, usually sells out by, how to gauge the size of the line, etc? How big are the batches?

For reference, I am a Tree House regular, so I'm used to a "wait after the initial surge of those on a mission, then swoop in an hour later" strategy thanks to their 500 case batches, but done my share of 2-4 hr lines...thanks in advance!

OH's line moves so much more slowly than Tree House's and with the bigger limits, a number of items will likely be gone after the initial (slow) surge (see last weekend). Unless they drop the limits, 930/10ish is probably the tail end of getting all the beers.

So for an arrival 8:30-9, when should I expect to get on my way?
