Oh, easily. I've seen someone spike their DL...no idea why. This year there may actually be a valid reason.

Call me a pessimist but I think a lot more people will get vintages versus variants. What was the total number of variant bottles last year? In either case, doubt they make 4X as many Ronaldo or 3X as many Handjee bottles. The way this whole thing has unfolded, it's going to be 30-40% vintage bottle allotments. It's going to be a classic case of bait and switch.

That was last year in the north gate serpentine line... that took nearly 2 hours to get through... it was miserable.

There are bathrooms in the 'holding pen' It shows them!

They don't have to make quite that much more, but the math is kind of depressing when you think about it. Assume 1k of each variant and you're still several thousand short.

Considering that I've run over black cats that were luckier than me, I'm probably getting vintage.

 

The 2016 variant count was ~8500.

 

There were 8,504 bottles of variants last year, not including the 2015 variants they had available (which probably totaled around 500-1000 or something)

How hard is it for them to figure out how many tickets they are going to sell in total and then have enough variants for all? I'm not saying double the Handjee production, but why can't everyone who paid $180 get a BA something...

 

So roughly speculating about 200 unlucky people will get vintage per group.

 

Well if you want to believe conspiracy theories, they had an 8th variant, but it was infected so had to be replaced with vintage.

 

I thought it's 2500 per group. Anyone know for certain how many per group?

 

I dunno, maybe... but I opened a cherry cocoa variant and that tasted like infection was a brewing in the bottle, but then again all tart cherries remind me of infection these days. I'd still take an infected BA over regular old DL.

 

I heard it was perfect they just got tired of all the Temeculon 3000 jokes....

 

I'd take an old Aquavit any day too... that brew was underrated!

 

I would also knowing take an infected beer, who knows what it will become.
