A friend of mine brought me a 4 pack of Slammin Bones. I think it's delicious and I need more. Is it still available at the brewery?

 

Currently yes, but it should be a beer you can regularly get canned if not at the brewery at Union beer store in Little Havana. One of my favorite IPAs that JWB in a collab with Union has done and excited to see it will be regularly brewed and canned.

 

Big poppa pushed back to June 10th.. per jw

It was on the latest reply on the big poppa post on his private instagram. The release is tricky because he and the Abnormal guys want to do a simultaneous releases for big poppa so wouldnt be surprised if it gets moved further.

Big Poppa sounds great. Boss Tycoon also sounds good but with 7 adjuncts going on, it seems a bit much going on. Boutit boutit clocking in at 17% sounds dangerous. Lol

Anyone know if will be ticketed?

 

There are no indications that this will be a ticket-style release - to my knowledge there have never been any before.

You will likely need to show up before 8AM to assure you your limit of each release for this one, with people lining up as early as 4AM.

We're going to see sleeping bags and tents at the brewery before the year is out.

 

I doubt they'll ever do tickets for bottle releases unless they start getting major complaints about the lines/bottle shares. I think the crew at JWB enjoy seeing those lines too much to do away with them on their own.

 

I'm gonna be in Miami Friday and would like to check out J Wakefield for the first time. Anything special on tap right now you'd highly recommend trying? I'm more of an IPA guy than a stout guy but always happy to try different styles.

I'm going to the Marlins game Friday night. I saw the brewery is 3 miles from the stadium but is it a fairly easy drive? Or a pain in the ass to get to? I love that the brewery opens at noon so time shouldn't be an issue. Do they do flights and/or small pours or only big pours? The goal is always to taste a few different things. No crazy releases or anything Friday that would prevent me from having a taste at the bar is there? Thanks so much!

 

You can check their full tap list on untappd, but they should have 2-3 IPAs available. No crazy release planned on Friday and they do flights/ 5 oz pours, so you're good on that end.

So driving pretty much anywhere in Dade county is a nightmare, doubly so in Miami. It might only be 3 miles, but that could be an hour drive depending on the time of day. I'm assuming it's a 7:05 game, so I'd factor in rush hour traffic and the Friday night wynwood crowds.

 

Very awesome. Still up in the air if I'm going for BP or not but thanks for the heads up. Either way I'll allot a solid hour to get over to the stadium. And thanks for the feedback on J Wakefield. Exactly what I'm looking for and really looking forward to it
