    It's true. All of it.

I'm still shaking my head in disbelief.

I hit up three Market of Choices in the state this past week – or maybe Markets of Choice – and it was a real exercise in restraining myself. Newport Avenue Market was great. Broken Top was great. (I wasn't as impressed by Growler Guys, but then again I was only looking for bottles.)

Overwhelmingly good first day in Oregon there in Bend. It was enough for me not to be too crushed by the ongoing renovations at the Tillamook Cheese factory a few days later.

How's the Abyss stash looking around town? Hate to keep beating that drum, but I'll be there Sunday through Wednesday (leaving in the morning), and I'd hate it if they were all gone.

If you're talking about regular Abyss, I don't think you should have too much of a problem finding it around town. If you go to some of the more obvious, popular places (Belmont Station, Beermongers, etc.), you might have a problem, but I still see plenty of it around town at various high end grocery stores (Zupans, MofC, etc.). John's Market up where I live still has a ton of the stuff.

Please disregard my last post as it pertains to places where you can find Abyss. I forgot you posted this in the Visiting Bend thread. I still think you should have little trouble finding Abyss around town, but the places I referenced are all places in PDX. Sorry about that.

Hopefully @sharpski can help you with more specific information for finding the Abyss around town. Good luck.

Abyss, including variants, is still all around town. I'm sitting at WF right now and they got 'em, plus I've seen Newport Market, Broken Top, and the Brew Shop with stock in the past week.

@mrmattosgood lemme know if you have any plans for Tuesday night. If you're going home Wed morning, I'd like to send you home with a hangover.

Hey BA bros/founders, if that is not worth some beer karma points, I don't know what is.

A quick review from an out of towner on Bend:

Thanks for @sharpski and everyone for great recommendations and apologies for not getting in touch while I was in the city. Work itinerary was pretty tight, but for the most part I got to get out around 8:30 to enjoy what I could.

Deschutes is worth the visit only for the experience of going to a pioneering brewery, to be honest. There's better beer in the city. I was able to grab some Abyss and Black Butte XXXVIII, which I'm stoked about. People were nice.

The Nitro stout at Crux was really tasty; I really enjoyed the Pass Stout from Good Life as well as their hoppy lager (forget the name ... Sweet Ass Lager?). I really thought a standout was Pub Beer at 10 Barrel. Delicious, easy to drink lager.

I caught the end of the Duke game on Sunday night at Brother Jon's Ale House, which I thought was a great place. I had the Boneyard RPM.

Dinner at Zydeco. Redfish was amazing. Doubleback Cabernet with it. Awesome trip.

Tough being back to reality right now. Thanks for all the tips everyone. I'd love to make it back to Bend one day.

Haven't tried the motorhead, but the cocoa cow is a great dessert beer.

I confirmed with one of the owners today that The Brew Shop/Platypus will stay where it is for the time being. 1yr lease w/ option for 3 more.

Also, they had bottles of Holy Mountain The Seer (via Shelton Bros), so a good day overall.

Anything I should be aware of while I'm in bend this weekend? Cheers!

Broken Top is having their April Showers Bring May Sours event, which has had strong lineups each year. Crux is releasing a brett saison as part of their [Banished] series on Thurs.

I heard that Ale Apothecary's tasting room in Bend will be open on Saturdays starting next weekend. Kid friendly, too!

    Follow up to my post.

Not a cheap place to hang out and have a beer or two. I was kinda hoping for taps, but that is probably not realistic with their current business model.

Official hours for the AA Tasting Room are Thurs and Sat 2-7pm. There was only a single Sahalien available; have to admit I'm kinda curious about the 2013 Sahati.

We'll be stopping in on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and I'm sure one of our group will want to drink the Sahati. Come help us spread the wealth.

Edit: just checked my bottles, I've got an April 2013 Sahati still.
