Nobody hates unless you try to claim something is a whale that isn't. If anyone asks me for a pour, I say yes, ALWAYS. The idea is so people can taste all kinds of beer and learn. 2014, In line for beer I was offered a beer called Funky Buddha Maple Bacon Coffee Porter. It was the first time I was surprised by a beer that to me sounded like things I love, that had to that point, not translated to beer. I had Rogue Dead guy ale as my only beer left. The other guy passed. He didn't hate on me. He didn't care. He was excited that my palette was strong enough as a DL newbie to know what he poured me had become a whale without me knowing, I could just taste it was amazing. It is about growing others beer world and bragging for the pourer, NOT judging what others have brought. As for groups, you will line up 30 mins before allotment time. A, you will line up separate from the fest and go directly into the brewery upon bag check. Then you are free to hit the fest. C will start to line up at 12:30, you can line up anytime between 12;30 and 3pm, however, if you miss your allotted time, you have to wait until 7pm to get your beer.

Kinds wish the tickets on sale now would be for a guarenteed vintage set. I just keep feeling my odds getting worse.

Pretty sure these are just because they tried to sell more yesterday at the brewpub and they didn't sell out, so they threw them online.

I'm group C but I told my friend who didn't get tickets about the ones for sale online and he bought one. Does anyone know how Ticket Resolution works? I see it on the DLD map. I'm assuming you access it somehow from outside the festival? What time do you recommend he get there? Thanks!

Thinking Huna Day was the best event you've been makes your opinion invalid . unless you went 3 or more years ago. Outside, insanely hot, way too many people and cramped as fuck, lines for days, and majority of good breweries kick their rare/best beers in the first 15 minutes. and on top of it huna has sucked the last two years (compared to previous versions)

I drove by and took a photo of the line about 15 min before opening. There was no more than 10 people in line.

Yep, most likely, but I will start this rumor... Floyds has taken over almost all the things they have normally outsourced for the fest, largest being security. I am willing to bet that this is a test to see if they can cut the ticket broker.

It's inside the staging area. You show your ID, and they give you your ticket.

A friend of my wife's worked for the planning company FFF has used in previous years for DLD and they said they weren't involved this year. So it definitely is different this year, either they went with a different company all together or they are doing it in house.

Good way to put it into perspective. I don't think a lot of people realize how much the share makes DLD what it is. The amount of .rar whalez I've been poured the last couple years at DLD has been crazy. Not only that but the non-whales from across the country (and a few from out of the country) that I've been able to sample that I'd have otherwise not had a chance to try have been great. Then you add in the human element. You talk to the person, learn about his/her tastes in craft beer. Maybe you make a new friend or trade partner.
Next there's the other end of the share where you get to pour someone something they love or never got a chance to try. Nothing feels better than blowing someone's mind with one of your pours. I think FFF is trying to improve the overall DLD experience. Their means of doing so are pretty fu*ked but at least they try to improve it every year. Look at the weather the past two years and how it would have been this year had they kept the same date. Now look at the new date and the current forecast. It's looking like a great move now. They did scratch offs a couple times and decided that didn't work because not everyone could get a variant. Last year it went all inclusive and I thought that was the best move they made.
Now they've changed it and (almost) everyone gets a variant and the variants are random since people last year as the day went on didn't have a chance at what they wanted. I bit*h about FFF but it's about the way they do things and not so much the things they do.

I have heard from two very solid sources that FFF is handling a lot more in house this year. Not fake news.
