Hazy, light, fruity, and smooth. I've been drinking this style of ipa for a while now. Has a similar hop flavor as Alesmith Tony Gwynn, Alpine HFS, Nelson, FW Luponic distortion, Leo v. Ursus. It's different from the classic GF wcipa, Duet, Pure Hoppiness hop flavor. Softer, different fruit, lower bitterness.
I don't think I've had a New England ipa. I've had many unfiltered ipas , cloudy ipas , ipas that are not from the west coast (2 hearted, centennial)... I'm just wondering what is the main difference? Is a NE ipa really a new style of beer? What am I missing?

Two years, four months is not the sweet spot for what is otherwise one of my favorite brews.

This beer was canned 4/17 and is much better now at 3.5 weeks vs. 1 week. Not the case with many of their beers, though.

That one is what I meant, re a big difference in flavor. Black trumpets are... the mushroomy essence of mushroomness? To give you an idea, my go-to recipe for Golden & related, involves chicken & white wine. The frequent favorite with back trumpets involves beef, parsley (or even better, lovage), shallots, & red wine. I'd expect them to be used with stouts & porters.
