Does it count if just Rogue is my beer pet peeve?

    Jk they're not entirely horrendous.

My bigger pet peeve is more about the social snobiety of some drinkers. Learn to socialize properly! I've overheard people undermine and "correct" more inexperienced beer enthusiasts, or talk grandiosely over their drinking partners' heads as some sort of praiseworthy, Liberace-level stab at impressing them. STOP IT!

Beer is to firstly, ENJOY. Secondly, share. Whether it be the experience or the beers. If analyzing is your thing, which many do with great pleasure, please do so! Just have some tact when someone has a different perception, or is cutting their teeth in the culture. You're not a scholar. Just be a kind person, and inform nicely when necessary.

Hey, I just quote the TTB regulations - "Enforcement", they handle.

But this BCBS label seems to follow that rule:

It should be illegal to not list the ABV.

It actually bothers me when people brag about their "proper glassware", but really it's just the logos match - not the style of glass. That's just being matchy-matchy, border-line OCD, not proper.

Last night I poured a bottle of Bell's Mars into a tumbler pint glass. Not proper by any means, but at that point, I just wanted a beer to enjoy while watching some baseball. Tasted just fine to me

Totally agree when people get carried away with glassware or obsess about it.

But sometimes the glassware does matter.

Don't get me wrong, I drink just about everything from a snifter for review purposes, and have a few other glasses I use in the right situation

It just drives me nuts when I see someone post a Lagunitas beer in a mason jar* and say "Proper glassware". No. It's matching glassware. That's the equivalent of wearing Nike Jordans in your Nike running clothes. Same brand - different purpose.

*Just one example that pops to mind quickly.

Another pet peev is when you look through the beer trading forum and every single post looks like

    ISO: kdhusv + mmdjhux pre b1 +aaanhgww
    FT: gkkshy and sichhgt

Idk about you all but I have no clue what half of those acronyms stand for.

This article talks a little about ABV labels: https://growlermag.com/whats-the-abv-transparency-in-beer-labeling-2/

It appears Summit doesn't label all of theirs. I can't recall which bottles/cans I've bought without ABV listed, but I do always find it mildly annoying when that information is lacking. Then again, I don't look for that bit of information until I've already cracked the container open, and have poured my glass. So not like it would effect my take-home purchases.

Perhaps this is more of a retailer pet peeve, but when the cashier turns a Belgian dubbel/tripel/quad on it's side and hands it to me in a plastic bag. I wanted to drink that when I got home, bastard!

Lol. Nice links to help me verify. I feel like if you are going to use acronyms then you should be mandated to embed links to the beer so we all know what is what.

Related to those is the guy who, when posting about a beer, doesn't actually mention what the hell it is, just a link to his review of said beer. Come on, just tell us what it is, and if you want to link, that's fine... but some of us don't have the time or inclination to click every link in your post to find out what you're talking about.
