Noon Whistle (IL)

From the look of the beer, it seems they went back toward the first few after experimenting a bit. That's great news for me if that's the case, as my rankings go:

#1 - Funny Gummy (first release)
#2 - Gummy Vortex (second release)
#3 - Jive Gummy (third release)
#4 - Let's Gummy (fifth release)
#5 - Mr. Nice Gummy (sixth release)
#6 - Mosaic Gummy (fourth release)

Special mention to the Pineapple Gummy Vortex even though they didn't consider it a release - that stuff was one of the best NE Style IPA's I've ever had! I honestly thought Funny and Vortex were incredible, here's to hoping this one is too.

 

just got back from buying a takes 2 crowler and can pack of prism, had a sample of takes two and thought it was really good, they have not let me down yet

 

any idea on how much they have? both prism and mango

 

prism in cooler out of tango and less than 4 4pqacks of prism left but not sure what was in back?

like said im basing off wait was in cooler behind bar, they may have a ton for restocking.

 

Not to self promote, but we're pouring it at our CCBW event called Ultra Fresh II on May 20th. They're kegging it this Thursday (5/18) so it will be on of the first times it's available, certainly in the city.

 

Had Prism. Was very good and they have a good amount (more than is in the cooler). It Takes 2 to Mango is great as well.

 

Just left NW and bartender said they went through 6 kegs of Mango yesterday and probably wouldn't last through the weekend. It was decent but not blown away by any means. Could've used more Mango flavor. Did enjoy the Indigo Prism though. Super crushable. Split a 4 pack with my friend. Mosaic Gummy is being released again Next week and Apocalypse the week after. Also, tried Mr. Nice Gummy, wasn't a fan at all.

 

Had some Mango last night. Enjoyed it. I thought it was on the level of the recent Gummies. Juicy, low bitterness and perhaps low carbonation (not entirely sure on that yet).

Question for home brewers: why have their recent Gummies been more of a darker orange? Is that the yeast they're using?

 

I was there last night and I agree, the mango is enjoyable. Took a crowler of it home.

I was talking to the bartender and its different processes they have used and it varies how everything is suspended in the beer I guess. I was told Gummypocalypse will be more in line with Funny Gummy or Peach Boyeee in terms of look and mouthfeel.

 

I liked the mango gummy more than the 2 prior, which were my least two favorite. Granted, I had it 6 hours into dark lord day, and it was preceded by a Perrin no rules...

 

I've not had any of the recent Gummies, so I haven't personally noticed the color change. It could be a number of things, but most likely a change or addition in the grain bill. I know I'll play around with adding a small amount of darker malt if I want more of an OJ look over a pineapple juice look, or if I'm trying to up the sweetness of the beer.

 

Im hoping they still have cans of prism as I want to pick more up it was fantastic

 

I'll be there Wednesday for Misaic and cheese. Maybe a prism if they have them.

 

Mosaic Gummy
Pineapple aroma at first but the grapefruit flavor won out, and now I can no longer smell the pineapple.
Nice. Cloudy orange-ish body. Children and non-beer drinkers would easily confuse the look and smell for juice.
I will be back Saturday for Imperial Bernie.

@Nachos4two they do still have 4packs of Hop Prism.
