Uh NO. So a bunch of people can pay $30 and try to walk off with other people's allotment. F&CK NO.

This year was BY FAR the best run DLD yet.

Never saw a tweet for FVM or Handjee on tap, didn't see a post in this thread that some one had it on tap. Did they just not produce enough to have on tap year? Though bottles counts on the 2 vanilla were pretty good.

Hey, it was great meeting you...I just wish I remembered it. I did a pretty good job of keeping my composure and not getting completely trashed, but I somehow have a block of time in the afternoon I can't piece together (that must be when the Konkey Dong I traded for got drank). Oh well, it's all part of the fun I suppose and hopefully I wasn't a jerk!

Must say all in all it was a great time. Good fellow BA'ers, random strangers and delicious beer. Everyone we came across was generous in offering, as we did the same. If we saw someone with an empty taster....here, have a drink etc. Was able to do some dealing and ended trading a chem and muerte for a handjee: guy that we traded with was great and fair. Look forward to going back again next year.

Anybody else bring home the bombers from Dark Matter? Got home to realize I bought all 3. Completely forgot that I bought them. Pretty cool labels though....

Anyone know how they hold up?

Hell yeah man, great times all around! Wish I remembered more. Like @croush , there was a big block of time that I cannot account for. Think part of my problem (or good decision??) was I didn't turn down a single pour all day. I was telling my girlfriend today that I did pretty well and only had about a 15-20 minute period where I don't remember anything. She responded with 'yeeeaa… that was about 2 hours or so'. So hopefully I didn't spill anything on you!

I bought 2 bags of coffee, a bhn, and a mug. Mug broke... oh well gonna drink the coffee this week, I don't think the bomber will age well

Glad you liked it. It pushed the limits of my brew rig pretty hard.

1 oz Northern Brewer1 oz Northern Brewer Hops Pellet 7.8 Boil 20 min 21.47

    about 110 IBU

Added 1 lb of coffee beans to the kettle as soon as the wort temp dropped below 180 f with an immersion chiller. Chilled to 55 and let set to give the coffee some time.

Pitched on a yeast cake of safale 04 that took it from an OG of 1.145 down to a FG of 1.030 in about five weeks. Fermentation was violent, lost 2 gallons out the blowoff tube in the first 72 hours. It was then racked into a carboy with oak cubes that had spent a month or more in a mason jar filled with two vanilla beans (split and scraped) and Ten High (dirt cheap bourbon). Left it in that carboy for about 11 months before bottling. I really need to make it again, there isn't much left.

    Cheers!

Don't bring sours to a stout festival. I wasn't there but I might have had the same reaction. Some people, myself included, fucking hate sours!

Don't know...but it does say on the bottle that they should not be aged.

I would've loved some Nightmare on Brett...Crooked Stave is easily in the top 3 of breweries I've been too. I like a nice variety of beers. Drinking Stouts all day is a bit much for me...

lot of hype on the Chemtrail on FB. I got two BBA, got back to the tent after B and a couple I was sharing with offered one of their 2 chem for my BBA. After seeing the reviews I'm so glad I did that trade.

    Damn that's awesome--well worth it!

Well you brought a shit ton of great hops I remember that, then a couple more sours were cracked like Saison Premier, Boxer's Revenge, Skeleton Witch...I'll have to go through my pics again when I get home. We camped out there a good couple hours it seems like, great time! Earned a literal red neck from that area most likely, gotta share a pic of that burn as well :stuck_out_tongue:

Seems like instead of kegging it, they bottled it all so that so many more attendees could actually get some of their own, which is amazing. Maybe there are a couple kegs for next year though, who knows.
