We're not going to let those variant chasing sheep have all the fun right? WHO'S READY FOR SOME PALE ALES?!
C'mon guys, we let's talk nonsensically about a topic that's been beaten to death since 2010 to get to 200 pages!
Another amazing Pale Pauper Day. No lines(except when Kentuckley came on), great beers all around. Pale Pauper(the beer) tasted great this year. And how about those $5 sammies from Rammy's? And what about School of Rock? Those kids killed it!!
Rammy's = legit. Secret gem in the area = EJ Pierogi. https://www.yelp.com/biz/ej-pierogi-elk-grove-village
Transient Kentuckley Tryptich Really Dank Memes Hubbard's Cave Fresh IIPA Amarillo Around the Bend BA Sünde Bock Forbidden Root Stay Lit Were some of my favorites
The Braveheart firkin by Horse Thief Hollow was my favorite of the day. Really well balanced and all the flavors came through nicely. I don't think I've had anything from them, so that was a nice surprise. As others have mentioned, IPAs as far as the eye could see with a lot of standouts (Stay Lit, Squeeze It, Really Dank Meme, etc.). A few stouts and a couple sour options to relieve the palate and I was a happy camper.
Glad to see Really Dank Meme getting some love. It's a great beer IMO. @3xAnthony will you guys be bringing that to SN Beer Camp in June? If not, maybe Dat Dust (hint hint)?
It was fun for me to get a chance to taste all of these hazy beers from the city you folks talk about. I liked SqueezeIt quite a bit; Mike's Check 1,2 was drinking real good too I thought. Got to talk awhile to the new Ram Schaumburg brewer and taste his latest stuff.. and Jeff from Narrow Gauge was running around in the background and got to taste beers with him too. Lots of fun! Thanks for the kind words. I bet Dat Dust will be gone by then... our current plan is more Really Dank Meme, or perhaps some Meme variant, and maybe our blueberry Berliner, These Aren't The Blueberries to be poured at BeerCamp. This week at BeerUnderGlass, we will have the latest batch of Dank Meme and probably more Really.
