I'm mostly pointing out that a $10 Crooked Stave is not going to open any doors for someone sticking their cup out asking strangers to share their whales. Plus, somebody has to stick up for the "Douche". Trump didn't get 50 million votes because he's Mr nice guy.

Hey @myersk27, I think I found the guy who wouldn't share his pour with you!

Thought the actual event was very well run, changes/vintages etc. notwithstanding. Met a lot of great people and had some great beers. Did miss out on all variant taps which was a bit disappointing, but far from a deal breaker. Think next time I will bring more share bottles and just be more active sharing instead of chasing. Much better stuff anyway.

I guess DLD has changed a bit then. I'm very thankful that these things are outliers and that virtually everyone else at the festival has fun sharing beers without requirements. Hell I gave a 1/4 full bottle of OG rare to a random person a few years back because the guy was interested in trying it. Didn't offer me anything for it nor did I expect anything in return. But I guess that's not cool anymore. LOL. Also, it was a $30 bottle....the 750ml cork and caged raspberry nightmare.....but that wasn't the point.

I'm gonna trade my variants for a KBBS and then beer bong it just to make a point that it's just beer!

I don't think it's this guy.....the CS bottle I had wasn't one of their 375ml bottles. But I think he'd get along great with the other dude.

I guess I should have saved The Broken Truck for later then....rather than sharing it with those lowly people who didn't have whalez to offer in return for it. I'm the asshole here.......clearly.

I wonder if those larger whalez people have another agenda? Is it to show off the big beer as a "look at me?" or is it to only truly be looking to acquire vs. share? Is so, then just put a bag or some tape around it and don't show what it is. No harm then either way, right? I know these are in the minority which is good, but don't show the damn beer and you won't get offended at the $10 bottle pour offer.

Brought a minor whale in FO b2 and only had an ounce of it with only an average BW in return. Was completely fine with it and people asked for a pour and I was happy that others got to try it.

That would require a lot of reviews. Don't think it'll have legs like that

I remembered a few of them. There's a couple of BA'ers here with usernames starting with J that I couldn't remember.
We met over at the FFF tap line. You were kinda walking by and I stopped you real quick when I noticed the DA shirt. We only spoke for a few as your group was moving along. For what it's worth you didn't appear to be wrecked.
My wife and I were group A. The second we walked out of the allotment pick-up we were asked if we wanted to sell our variants. I not so kindly replied "I couldn't tell you. I haven't had a fu*king chance to look in my bag yet." He moved on to the next.

Here is a montage of the bottle shares my wife and I enjoyed during DLD 2017. Goose Island Bourbon County Cherry Rye was one of my favorites. Everyone I met was very gracious and generous regarding bottle sharing.

Opened mine yesterday. Wow. It is possibly my favorite variant I have tried.

At the Fairfield in Hammond on Friday night, my group opened a 2016 FVM, an Assassin, a BA LSD with Vanilla and a Jam the Radar. We were the first ones there. When other folks started filling in, we certainly offered pours. Never once did I care what would be offered in return. For me, it was about trying to make someone's evening with a great pour. If it becomes what can I get in return, I don't want to be a part of it. Beer is for sharing.

Exactly. I cracked open my 2014 Double Barrel Mexican Cake and 2016 Double Barrel Huna and shared it with anyone nearby or anyone that walked up and asked for a pour. I wanted nothing in return but a thank you.

I was just thinking too...the sheer number of pours I had to politely turn down...I can't even begin to count. I was turning down BCBS pours on the way in so I didn't end up like "Bury me with all of my valuables guy."
