I prefer the all encompassing "barnyard"...

I don't want to eat or drink anything that smells like manure. Despite George Costanza claiming that it's a good word with the "ma" which is good, and with the "newer" which is also good.

I wasn't really being serious with my first post. Just saying that most of us on here probably prefer a "wacky" beer with miso or space ice cream in it to Budweiser and would find the latter less appealing and more offensive than what would stereotypically be thought of as "offensive."

On a serious level, nothing beer can do will ever really "offend" me. Do you. Make what makes you happy. Drink what makes you happy. And enjoy life

Don't get me wrong, I love some of your "out there" beers, especially Gilded Lily. However, if something literally smells like shit, I don't consider it "missing out" but as always you are welcome to your opinion, this being your brewery thread and all.

i think you may be being too literal. when someone says "burgundy smells like horseshit" they don't mean "literally smells like just the shit of a horse" they don't even mean "smells like all horseshit."
a great farm with horses on it smells like a million things, but one of those things is horseshit, and it is definitely not a bad thing, however the piles of horseshit from the cart horses in central park with a bagged food diet smell like horrid death. not all smells of shit are bad. go to blue hill stone barns farm on a weekend, you'll smell all kinds of shit and it is one of the greatest smells in the world, go by factory dairy farm in wisconsin and it is one of the worst smells in the world just is what it is.

I love that theres a horseshit debate going on in a beer forum.

What time is everyone lining up for the release of Horse Hockey Hefeweizen?

You jest, but if a beer was made that smelled like horseshit and was labeled a "New England IPA", there'd be a line. A Hefe, not so much.

Well, now I'm waiting for Carton's Horse Shit IPA, which is of course pronounced horseshiteepa.

I can't tell whether Augie is in a really really good mood or a lousy mood but either way this whole discussion is downright bizarre.

When I bought some the bartender made me try to pronounce it. She said I got it right, so I was proud of myself. Really enjoyed that one. I have a few left, but not for long.

Edit: I did mention it. I commented on how it took me awhile before I realized what it was backwards.

If I may say, this is the best monthly thread debate we've had maybe ever.

"You know, about how when you break it down, it's really a very positive thing. You know, you have a 'nure,' with a 'ma' in front of it. MA-NURE. It's not bad."
