This style is new to most of the country. What's the price of 12oz, 16oz NEIPA pours and crowlers in the New England states?

~$4/16oz can is probably a good rule of thumb.

Most I've seen on shelves is in the $6-$7 range (SingleCut DIPA cans) and the lowest I've seen is in the sub-$2 range (sixers of Jigsaw Jazz or Wally)

Funny you mention SingleCut. At a specialty shop in NYC, SingleCut DIPA cans were going for 12 each last week. I passed. $6-7 for a single can at that specialty shop is my max.

If I'm buying a 4 pack of 16oz cans at package store, $4.00 per can would be my absolute max. I usually spend $12-$13 for a 4 pack.

Alchemist is $12.99 a four pack 16 oz cans at the brewery, Trillium is anywhere from $15-20

Alchemist has all cans for 12.50/ 4 pack.. Sip of Sunshine is usually around $14 a 4 pack.

Tree House cans run in the 3.5 to 4.5 each range typically.

Second Fiddle is $13 a four pack.

Only semi related at this point... about two years ago I saw Heady Topper selling on "the grey market" for $16 a can in Philadelphia.

I really miss my first born child, Tim. But unfortunately that's the going rate for a New England style IPA in Massachusetts.

At least kids are easy enough to make.

Best deals to be had. BS garnered a 97 rating in a recent CB&B magazine spread on NE IPAs....

I travel a lot for work and always think the draft prices are cheap.
7-8 bucks for a draft of any craft is consistent for where I go in my area.

The same for food in restaurants too. New England is expensive overall.

Why are you asking? It's much more a function of the region than the beer.

They are an "in" fad now & priced high.

Though I'm starting to see a few cracks in the juice/haze IPA craze now - specifically that everyone's doing one & they don't travel or age well at all. There will be aged ones inevitably & they taste terrible.

Plus there will be another style in a year or so that will take beergeek 's attention.

This might be the bitter retail guy in me , but it makes me sad to see Night Shift as a "beer ad" brand. Night Shift delivery day is a special day at my stores, always will be, but as good as it is for the NS people who I love and am hppy for, this just makes me dread the day customers tell me they bought night shift for $3 cheaper at a big box store.

Possibly, but I doubt it. This style appeals to non-beer drinkers, not just beer geeks. So many of my friends who never liked beer got into it in the past year; "Oh this beer is different! It doesn't even taste like beer". lol.

Exactly. And "NE IPA" prices are generally the same for any other style of beer with similar abv. There's nothing specific about the style driving prices. The only style I see specifically priced high is barrel aged sours.

Trillium cans range from 15-22 a 4 pack. That 22 is the highest I've seen, aside from the 500ml bottles from Maine and Singlecut at closer to $8-9 each. But I don't think the NE IPA "style" as produced by a brewer outside the northeast, would be priced differently than a regular IPA really. If it used much more hops than their regular IPA maybe. Trillium adds $2.5 a 4 pack for DDH versions I think.

Some people don't like to pay $8 with tax for a 16oz NEIPA. They say it's too expensive. This style's hops seem to be expensive and it's why the beer is priced as such.

As a homebrewer who is focusing on this style of beer, the price is most likely related to the amount of hops in these beers. They use a LOT of hops and also the hops that are used Galaxy, Citra, Mosaic etc tend to be among the most expensive hops to purchase.

SingleCut originally went out very expensive for their cans but they've started to drop down to more reasonable prices. I bought "Are you ready Steve" the other day and I think it was in the under $5 range. Overall I'd say for the top NE IPA's $4-5 is normal. $5 should be a double IPA or something special about it.

It's not just NEIPA's that are expensive..... try getting into Imperial Stouts.......
