Drinking this while watching my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins lose lol

Dark garnet red in color with a candied-fruit like aroma and flavor. At 10% Killer Penguin is a big barleywine that comes across very smooth and extremely balanced

Not many bands could take a Bruce Springsteen song and make everyone forget Bruce actually wrote it. Its always been a favorite of mine.

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Hump Day. Usual mid week bottle returns and minim haul of beer. I survived another day of management meetings for our recent engineering issues, but things are looking up! This is basically boiling down to a list of lessons learned, and then my department process lead needs to work on some process/system improvements from what we found out through the completed investigation. Maybe things will get a little less stressful soon (they won't)

    Today's reviews:

This was a great IPA! Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit, light honey malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine/grassy/citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced bready/grainy malt and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slight resins and increasing bitter dryness; no hop astringency. Super easy drinking. Not as hazy as I expected; but it still has the super juicy/vibrant hops with balanced bready malts I expected for the East Coast style. Just a tad too drying from lingering bitterness, but never overdone. Would buy again, really delicious. 4

Incredible!! Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, apricot, apple, berry, red grape, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and oak; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, molasses, clove, vanilla, and yeasty earthiness. Light yeast spiciness and herbal/roast bitterness on the finish balances the sweetness perfectly. Medium-full bodied bready/grainy creaminess. Slightly sticky, chalky, and tannic. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spicy notes. Insanely smooth, zero warming 10%. Wonderful yeast/malt complexities, with nice oak barrel presence. Perfectly balanced fruity/malty notes. Just as fantastic as the regular Reserva I had in May 2013, according to my review. Very similar flavors. 4.3

Old ale aged in four roses barrels for a year. This was awesome! Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apricot, apple, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, toasted oak, and brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, and yeasty earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overdone. Light herbal/roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish balances the sweetness perfectly. Very mild carbonation and medium-full bodied. Nicely creamy mouthfeel; lightly slick, chalky, and tannic. Slightly drying finish from oak tannins, never astringent. Very smooth, pleasantly warming 12.5%; very mild booze. Really well rounded malt and yeast complexity. A little more barrel forward than I prefer; but it doesn't come off overly boozy or drying on tannins. Really impressive! 4.1
