I don't think the price point is too bad for a barrel-aged sour, but not having it on tap to try makes it difficult to justify to oneself (as shadetree67 pointed out). At $16/750-mL, it is similar to Schell's, a little higher than Fair State, Indeed, Insight, or Boom Island, and less than Surly or Forager. I would still buy Fair State and Indeed if they raised their prices. Most Minnesota sours are priced very reasonably compared to a lot of other breweries in the US.

Weird they don't have any on tap, maybe they're sitting on kegs? 100 bottles of each seems too low of a count from a foeder. Perhaps they transferred more into other barrels for further aging or are continuing to age in the foeders...

I'd like to give these a shot, hopefully still there after work tomorrow

Doom is at Falls. There are also bombers at Total Wine Roseville. They apparently have 4 cases of 4-packs left, but couldn't find any of them when I was up there. My roommate got the last one they can locate. Such an amazing beer.

Just opened a Lightness of Being. It's solid, I really like it. It's sour and funky with a great balance.

Casanova had Zombie Dust in stock this morning. 1 6 pack per person, and you had to ask at the counter.

Why, yes, I did get a 6 pack. Can't wait to try it.

One of the owners posted on Facebook that they are doing a solera with the foeders. So they pulled out enough for 100 bottles and then refilled the foeder.

Does anybody have any insight into when Prairie Birthday Bomb will be hitting shelves? Prairie's website says it's out this month and they have a Bday Bomb party on the 25th of May, but it doesn't say if that's a release party or not. Just curious if anyone knows anything. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

There are two 750ml growlers of Mahattan Reserve for sale at Town Hall Brewery. I unfortunately killed the keg they had on, but it was replaced with Twisted Trace.

That's funny, when I was there yesterday the employee took the bottle of FFF War Mullet that I was going to buy and said "oh sorry that's not for sale, that's for me" and then neglected to tell me that there was any zombie dust behind the counter. Although I did get a couple DDH Sue bottles - I would say this was definitely not the best experience I've had a Casanova's. I always thought they kept their stock out front, first come first serve but I guess maybe I should start asking. Sorry for the negative post, I have been a pretty regular customer and a big fan of Casanovas but this experience left me a little peturbed . . .

Sorry that happened to you. I've only had positive experiences there and hope that continues.

Was there enough DDH that there'd be some still today?

Just the opposite for me. I went yesterday and bought some Dreadnaught, and DDH Sue at checkout i was offered a sixer of Zombie Dust without asking for it, also was shown many bottles that were bought back but not for sale from DLD, several of those bottles were visible but not for sale.

That employee should never be allowed to hold limited release bottles for themselves again. That'll teach them when the CBS release comes around.

Still a quite a few cases of DDH Sue so I think you'd be safe today!

Yeah, like I said, kind of weird experience for me yesterday - this was definitely an aberration from my previous experiences but when you make the haul to Hudson it's a little irksome to feel like I don't make the cut to get offered the behind the counter goods.

Oh well, I have had the opportunity to try ZD in the past and hopefully will see it again in the future. Plenty of great IPAs out today (which might be the reason we are seeing ZD more regularly in Hudson). I will be back to Hudson - I'm sure this was just a one time bad experience.

By the way - for all the sour fans out there picking up some TG at Cassanovas I recommend FFF Molten Mirrors. I picked one up a couple weeks ago and saw it was still available yesterday. A little pricey (18.99), but man, that was a pretty crazy good sour in my book.

I saw that yesterday, but decided to pass. I spent a lot as is. I've never had Zombie Dust, and I'm going to pop open a bottle tonight.

I would not look at it as making the cut, maybe as you said an aberration. Ive always had great service and experience there. Did not buy the FFF MM @ $19, maybe should have ,i did see it on display.

I just got back to MPLS last night after four months in SE Asia. Can anyone tell me if/where there is any Goose Island Cooper Project around? Preferably the South Mpls area. Or anything else I should be on the lookout for?

Can't help with the Cooper Project (sorry) but Founder's Doom is worth looking for.
