Was carrying beer into my family's house for a birthday yesterday: Russian River Happy Hops growler and Angel's Share in one hand, 4pk of 10/01/12 Pliny in the other. Bottom of the holder gave out.

2 bottles survived actually, so it could have been worse. Worst thing I have dropped is a bottle of Cable Car. On 2 separate occasions :slight_frown:

I've only dropped two bottles to date, and each have landed on their cap, basically just forcing me to drink them right away. One story I've told before, I knocked out a bottle of my roommate's girlfriend's Smirnoff Green Apple Bite while rooting around the fridge looking for a beer to enjoy while shrinking a new pair of jeans in the tub. I can't say that sitting in a lukewarm tub in jeans sipping on a Smirnoff Ice is one of my finest moments.

The other one happened much more recently, but I honestly don't remember what I dropped. I think it might have been a Monk's Cafe. and it also landed right on the cap with no loss of beer, but just enough to pop it open enough that I had to drink it. No full breakages yet, but I know it's only time.

Dropped my only bottle of the '10 event horizon on my counter, slicing multiple fingers wide open and exploding beer all over the place, much of it behind the stove (unbeknownst to me at the time). I looked back and forth between the beer dripping off the counter and the blood dripping off my hand whilst contemplating the odds of swallowing glass shards if I were to take a sip. The wife coming into the kitchen and starting to scream alerted me to the fact that the blood on the floor was quickly approaching thr volume of the beer. No go on the sip, but my kitchen did have a rich, roasty aroma for a bit...until we discovered thr beer had gotten behind the stove and putrified.

Man you guys posting photo's have too much free time on your hands.

On topic I dropped a bomber of Avery Maharaja. I got it from a place that put two bombers in a paper bag and when I was carrying it to my house I grabbed both bottles by the neck. This ripped the side of the bag and caused the bomber to crash on the pavement. Man what a hoppy smelling mess.

Lucky for me I was able to go back to the shop and pick up another bomber for 8 bucks. Man I wish I had two that shit is hella tasty!

About a month ago I bought a fresh as can be 4 pack of Furious and as I grabbed the bag out of the cab of my truck, the bottom ripped open and the 4 pack fell and hit the concrete. The fall popped 3 cans and dented the 4th. I stood and stared at that for what felt like an hour. I was so pissed...

I'm willing to bet I've lost a bottle or two in spillage with all the gushers I get from Jolly Pumpkin, .

1.) Massively horrible story. My condolences.

2.) Speaking from experience : If you plan on going to the Warren market or anywhere in VT for Lawson's bottles, make sure you're there on a Friday morning. That's when Lawson's delivers, and they go quick.

3.) Make sure you go to Prohibition Pig in Waterbury. Just.....do it.

That's good information to have because I really want to bring some Lawson's home. In fact, I'm sipping on a bomber of Lawson's 40th Anniv. Ale and enjoying every sip. (The guys I went with were cool enough to bring a bottle of it back for me.) Prohibition Pig is now on my radar. Thanks for the pointers!

Anytime man. Want to help make your 2nd trek much better. When I went to Prohibition there was a keg of KBS that lasted a week. I couldn't believe my eyes....every single night I went there I had KBS on draft. They just have so much good beer to drink up there. In NY that keg would kick in an hour.

It led to one of the greatest moments in my life. Maple bacon ice cream with apple cider donut holes, paired with KBS. It changed me.

While your at it, directly across the street is Black Back Pub. Literally the best HF selection on draft you can find. They were pouring Double Citra, SS#4, Edward, Abner, Walden, What is Enlightenment? and Nor. Also had Lawsons Double Sunshine, Collaboration Time, Session in the Rye, Petrus, etc. Great pub, friendly staff and Johnny Cash pumping through the speakers. Man I can't wait to go back to VT.

I did hear about the Black Back and you're right, they had a crazy good list of HF stuff on tap. (Looked them up online before I left.) I saw they had Abner on tap and called to see if they would fill growlers, no go. :slight_frown: BB is definitely going to be on my hit list. Every now and then we can get HF on tap down here in PA at Capone's but Lawson's on tap, especially Double Sunshine is totally sick! Double Sunshine is one of my highest rated big IPA's, that bottle was a memorable tasting I'll not soon forget. Thanks again!

It would suck for me to hit the "like" button, that's the kind of nightmare scenario I imagine whenever I travel.

Outside of dropping 4 beers out of an open (unknown to me at the time) Sam Adams Brewers Choice 12 pack I haven't really had any disasters.
