I didn't even realize that MC was releasing already, we didn't sell near as much this year, is interest fading?

Interest might be down because last year there was virtually no heat at all...

I think it hit Raleigh, NC, earlier this week from the few whispers I've heard. If so I didn't get my hands on any this year. Sad face.

    Yep, hit today.

Ridgewood has it on tap right now.

Unfortunately this is simply the worst year of MC I have had. Very little heat, a hint of cinnamon and all roast.

I'm glad I'm not chasing bottles.

When everyone is saying Heat, are you referring to the peppers or the alcohol? These appear to be used interchangeably. Usually you can figure it out, but given that this bear has 'spice,' it's not so clear.

The heat from the peppers, it varies from batch to batch and everyone has their own preference.

Must be batch 1 from this year. I'd agree, batch 2 is fantastic with great heat as it warms up and batch 3 is supposed to have more heat than 2.

I've had every year of MC, along with Abraxas, Huna and Canis. I know the difference between pepper heat and alcohol content.

Thus far (and maybe its because its the b1 that went into kegs), MC has the least amount of pepper heat I have had from any of the MC years. Along with the lack of cinnamon, I almost was willing to ask the bar tender if the keg they had wasn't actually from WB.

I've got a couple bottles, and I hope they will give the nice heat and cinnamon that I normally find and everyone is saying exists.

Interesting as I have heard most people say this was a nice balance between the last two years which were too little (15) and too much heat (16) (could have those opposite). Havent tried it yet though.

Also as all taste is subjective, pepper heat and the tolerance for it is especially so.

I loved 2 Claw. I got a super strong spice on the nose that I just couldn't place... Was the just the 'spicy' Rye? Or from the hops?

I liked two claw but thought it was better draft. I had it after broccoli from Other half a month or so ago and it was really malty but thats probably not a far comparison. Still a solid beer but probably prefer one claw.

I'm assuming it's a new batch, do you happen to know the bottle date?

Date is hard to read but I picked up the "last bottle" on Thursday and I think it's a 5/12/17 I haven't tried it yet.
They must be giving the taproom a certain amount for the day?
