Darklord Day 2017

I'm super bummed I missed out on BA Alpha Kong. How was it? Regular is one of my favorites of all time and would be curious about what it could do in a barrel.

 

My day sounds like many other stories. Had great time but things got a bit fuzzy in the afternoon. Looked for the DA share but couldn't find you even yelling Dragon Abortion!
One question, we got into the holding area about 925 and was excited to get a BA Moloko. I thought it was fantastic. Didn't get any BA FFF taps last year. I took a picture of the sign and it did not say vanilla. I know I've read many saying they had the vanilla on tap. Was that it and the sign just didn't mention the vanilla. In either case it was great!
It was great meeting some of you although I can't remember any user names except Sabtos. I'll need to pace myself and hydrate more next year.
I rushed to the busy table in my C group and got vintage like my buddy. But my wife didn't listen to me and went to a table with no wait and walked away with a Chemtrail. I have a good wife! She told me I was photobombing people and giving away good beers. If I bombed you, sorry, if you got a nice beer, I hope you enjoyed it.
Can't wait until next year!

 

This makes me want to go drink a bottle of Derivation 7 this weekend. Yep, that's what I'm doing!

 

It was nice meeting you! Albeit it for a short visit. When we found the larger DA group I sent the lady back to go get you, she was gone for a good 5 minutes but didn't come back with you...! I assume you were getting into the bottle line? I forgot what she told me, lol. Oh well, sounds like it was still a great time for both of us!

I found the opposite. My pours were all to the brim, hence the stains all over my pants and shirt. I'm not complaining, I would bathe in the Woodford BA Behemoth if I could

I had the BA vanilla Moloko. It tapped pretty late in the day at the holding area tap line. They also tapped de muerte after it kicked. This was sometime after 5 or 6 oclock I think. I just know it was later in the day.

 

They tapped both. I did see the BA Moloko at the 9:30ish hour. I believe the BA Moloko Vanilla was tapped later in the afternoon.

 

Think sweet; think very sweet I have no complaints and enjoyed it but I personally wouldn't want to drink too much due to the sweetness.

 

Anyone have Rev's deth by plums? Curious to how that tasted

 

I got in around 9:30 and remember seeing a BA Moloko with Cherry on tap in the Staging area. I was concerned about getting in line for my allotment that I just walked right past it, but thought it sounded good.

 

I have had it and I loved it. I think Cherries is my favorite and then Plums. Plums is slightly sweeter to me.

 

Thanks for the help. I guess I just had regular BA. If I did have the vanilla after 5, I wouldn't have remembered it anyway.

 

I'm sorry if I passed my philanthropic curse on to you at the CW 19 party. I'm guessing whoever got a bottle from you is now cursed to give away a big bottle too...

 

I had it on tap the night they released the bottles. I still have my bottle but on tap I loved it. Huge brandy presence up front.. fairly boozy but mid sip you get a bubblegum sweetness thats actually pretty nice. Totally transformed the base beer

 

I didn't take a picture, but the BA Moloko at the entry gate around 9:30am was definitely Vanilla, and it was written on the board.

 

Too funny. I just found my picture and it did say vanilla! I guess I still haven't fully recovered!

 

Regarding trades: I am seeing a lot of ISO posts on the beertrade sub-reddit looking for DL 2017 and their variants. Most requested variant (no surprise) is Handjee.

Met up with one of my buddies and his and plus-1 who were both in B group, and they both got lucky and drew a bag with Handjee. My friend's plus-1 had no idea what he had, and I told him that basically he was holding about a $500 bill. Got separated after a bit, as tends to happen at DLD, and didn't talk to my friend until last night.

He told me his Plus-1 had traded his Handjee for two vintage DLs.

I about threw up in my mouth.

Which one of you was it?
