Tons of amazing ones that aren't pricey at all. If you need a inflated rantings diabetic shock dessert stout from a hype brewery, sure. If you want a world class IS there are tons.

Checked out the Total wine prices? It's literally right down the road from the brewery. I shop there for bourbon.

Tried Smutty baltic porter, A case of either SN narwhal or the Brookyln BCS? How about one of my top 5 , Jacks Abby BA framinghammer?

Well sure, I'm not arguing that all imperial stouts are over priced, just like some of the new NEIPAs by bigger breweries are pretty cheap. But there's no denying that a lot of imperial stouts, especially barrel aged ones, are pretty expensive.

The Baltic was ok and the Narwhal was pretty good but I've never tried a stout from Jack's Abbey. I was under the impression they only made lagers, I thought they didn't do any ales?

Framinghammer is a baltic porter, which is (traditionally) a lager version of an imperial stout.

But, Alchemist is before tax and deposit, while Second Fiddle is the price out the door, can't beat it.

You might still find some on the shelves. Or at the brewery, world class and worth seeking out. The BA bourbon barrel framinghammer. Better than that Kentucky or Chicago junk ( JK, but tastes better and is easy to find local)

Definitely have to check that out, I'm a fan of barrel aged dark beers.

Ahh I wasn't familiar with Baltic Porters thanks

Why would I pay $8 for a NE IPA at Black Stack, when I can get better versions around town for less?

After doing some research this market is starting to see New England IPA's at the $7 to $8 range. Since, I work off-premise we have yet to hear people asking for the style and who knows if it will ever fully catch on.
