I'm drinking a can now and gotta disagree. This batch tastes closer to Rev Galaxy Hero than tasting like either of the previous Galaxy Bowl batches. Pretty bummed about it. This doesn't strike me as very NE style either. Maybe that's why they took it off the label.

This one has more resiny character, a little more bitterness, less sweetness, and very little peach character whereas batch 1 tasted like carbonated peach pineapple juice soda. I wouldn't call this a shell of its former self, this is a totally different beer to me.

Don't get me wrong, I still think this batch is a solid Galaxy hopped DIPA, but to me it's like they made a completely different beer and put it in the wrong can.

Wish they could recreate the magic from batch 1. Sigh...

This won't be the last time stay lit will be on. Give it a week

I had it on draft tonight and felt it was NE style for sure. The Hop Butcher guy was really cool and explained how having NE on the labels just caused more problems than benefits. It makes sense. It's not like Alchemist, TH, or Trillium has to put NEIPA on theirs. I feel like I got more of a Belgian twang than I did in October when I was blown away. But I want to revisit it again with cans before I say that for sure. Btw, they said many Binny's will get 1-2 cases and that's it. So if you're itching for it I would make the trip to the Open Bottle for draft

It's funny I didn't get that Belgian twang when I had it on tap. I got a little from the can. I've noticed as it warmed it went away. Still enjoyed it every much. I personally prefer it over batch 2.

hop butcher can say whatever they want but its because they slapped NE on 85% of their beers and got skewered for it. talk about cash grab. after their first few offerings it was disappoint after disappoint for me. twangy ass saison after saison.

@3xAnthony this triptych though...god damn. delicious and I would buy them all god damn day at the price point. really enjoying both offerings, thanks for bringing it to chicago.

Yeah, I decided to go get a fresh 4 pack of Really Dank Meme yesterday with the tap room being a matter of minutes from my home instead of making a truly ridiculous drive to Open Bottle and back for Galaxy Bowl. I was also rewarded with my reasonable thinking by getting a pour of Dat Dust. Which is a thing of beauty to behold. It does not defy gravity, I just can't figure out why photos go sideways on Ba. Glad everyone is digging Triptych's offerings and they are starting to pop up in stores there. I've been running thier stuff up north to family and friends for a few years now. Cheers!

Ran to Binny's on Grand after work yesterday and Really Dank Meme was already gone but Dank Meme was still there, but the beer guy told me that would probably be gone today as well.
Had Dank Meme yesterday, it is really awesome. Really loved it. Huge thanks to @3xAnthony and crew for dropping these in Chicago. If these would be here regularly I would be buying them all the time. Incredible beer.

On another note, after the posts on here, I decided to buy Hubbard's Cave Single Hop Amarillo and I quite liked this actually, so thanks for the recommendations.

Hm it looks like I'm in the minority but I didn't think really dank meme was that great. It was still a good beer but compared to the other NE IPAs in Chicago I'd say it was about average (as in better than something like juicy pants but not nearly as good as corridor or mikerphone)

I did like the price point though

Last night at a share we had Old Nation M43, Tree House Haze & Julius, Short's Slurm, Monkish Realness & Mikerphone Check 1,2.

Mikerphone Check 1,2 was the consensus favorite, followed closely by Realness & Julius.

    I swelled with civic pride.

I had Haze and Check 1,2 as well last night, I preferred Mikerphone. I really didn't expect that. I know it's a polarizing statement, but are we getting closer to the East Coast breweries with this style? Corridor, Mikerphone, Forbidden Root, assuming Shaun will continue to do great work at More.

In my books we are on the same level because stay lit is on par or better than most east cost ipa's I've tried.

I did have a doppelgänger the other week though and it was fantastic. I thought hands down better than any mikerphone.

I think the guys around here are starting to nail the fresh taste, but now need to get better at consistency and longevity. Julius and Mikerphone Check are of pretty comparable quality to me. But one is a flagship single IPA that'll be good for almost two months and the other is a dry hopped double that you need to drink within two weeks.

One mans opinion. We probably haven't tried the same east coast ipa's so I'm sure your opinion is different!

I see that The Open Bottle is tapping Super Duper Special Sauce by Mikerphone tomorrow. Anyone had it? I'm assuming it's delicious.
