As a somewhat novice homebrewer, I am always starry-eyed and thinking of new weird brews to try simply for my enjoyment.

I just moved to a new place with my girlfriend of 2 years. Ever since I've known her, she has this skin toner called Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel. Even long before we moved in together, I LOVED the aroma of this stuff. It literally triggers synesthetic montages of images in my brain. To me, it's a glorious, inspiring, uplifting smell.

I've always wanted to attempt a brew that could create that same aroma, but alas, it would most likely be impossible. Worth attempting though!

What's your (weird or not) fantasy beer?

My beer fantasies usually involve having various Vermont and Massachusetts beers have distribution to my local beer stores. Haha. I would also kill to have a brewery next door to me that brews nothing but authentic German lagers.

As a new Homebrewer I often take a sip of a great beer and fantasize about being able to brew something so good. Apart from that, my other beer fantasies involve my being able to travel to all the great breweries I hear so much about and have wanted to try for so long..

    Cheers

Also wishing there were a beer utilizing tea tree and eucalyptus. Unfortunately you can't consume tea tree oils or essences. But it smells damn delightful.

With the thread title about weird fantasies and the first post talking about loving the aroma of your girlfriend's skin toner, I just didn't know where this was going to end up.

Hey--don't know if this will fulfill a fantasy exactly, but I had a really interesting tea-infused brew recently. O-Gii from Milwaukee Brewing Co. Also cool as an imperial 9% witbier. So--tea, but not lightweight. If you can find it, it might be worth a try. Lots of flavor.

I don't know if it's been done before, but I'd like to see someone brew a beer with sumac, if possible. For those not in the know, you can make tea with sumac berries. My brother made it once and it was very refreshing. They taste sort of like raspberries. I think it would work great for sour or wheat styles.

Seems kind of weird but I'm thinking an IPA with honey and cherries might be good. Or a Mosaic hopped blueberry IPA. Honey cherry stout sounds good too, and I imagine that has already been created. Also, coffee in everything.

Most of my fantasies DO NOT involve beer. I do daydream of touring Europe and sampling the beer as we go. Particularly Bruges, ever since I saw the movie.

My only beer fantasy is being able to afford good beer all the time and not having to think about the $25 four pack or bomber. Just be able to buy what I want anytime I want.

    Enjoy

Oh. Fuck. This makes me remember. I want an imperial maple oatmeal brown ale. If I had a brewery I would make that my fall seasonal. I love brown ales as it is; I consider them the most underappreciated style, (see my thread on the topic) I have a huge love for oats, (my favorite adjunct; I also made a thread about this) plus the delectable sweetness of maple syrup would lend a decidedly Northeast/New England character to it, and the higher abv would make it a great cold weather sipper. This is something Founders could do perfectly.

My fantasy beer would be a pumpkin beer that tastes like pumpkin pie. I've heard that a few exist, but I have only gotten my hands on ones that at best are vaguely reminiscent of pumpkin, and too often just taste like squash (which pumpkin admittedly is).

    Dear Beeradvocate Letters

I never thought it would happen to me, but there I was sitting on my porch drinking a Pliny when the most voluptuous FEDEX delivery driver walked up my drive. With a sparkle in their eye I was asked "Is that a Pliny in your pocket......"

Well, for me it would be fresh peaches, cumin, honeysuckle, with a dash of fresh new leather, like a new baseball glove, or saddle.

I've never had a pumpkin beer that doesn't taste like pumpkin pie, although I don't care for the style so I haven't had that many of them.
