The exact item I use to judge all others right now too. I still like to tick and wouldn't mind trying slurm, dirty dank, etc. But even the most recent transient releases aren't blowing me away. And ellison has cans on sale this week too. Yet, if i can just buy m43, why not just buy them and be happy  Or I live 7 min from the brewery I can just go there and drink m43, tweed, boxer, greenstone, all on tap for almost the same prices.

Grabbed 2 bottles tonight, which was the last of it at the store. 3.50 or 3.75 each. Can't remember.

Grabbed a 4-pack today for $12.99. It's.... ok. This is missing something to balance it all out -- like orange peel and pink peppercorn, or brett. I'll come back to another bottle in 3 months when the bitterness dies down or just give away the 3 remaining bottles.

U can't be serious. Harder to get than KBS. Iits a glorified St Ides. Gtfottahere

Plenty at my local. Don't really love the style generally but thought it was the best for the style I've had. Pretty boozy tasting which I like. Just went with a single but will probably grab some more.

It's definitely harder to get than KBS, meijer and Busch's had KBS and many stores got lots of it, they did not get Doom at least not by me. Doom not easy, plus same store gave me 2 bottles of KBS and another month later but for Doom I could only get 1.

Definitely thought Doom was "meh." Pretty boozy and bitter. Better as it warmed, but I imagine this is what paint thinner tastes like. Will confirm when I get back from Home Depot.

Make sure it is a blind test... (or would that be a go blind test...)

I must've had some funky flavor in my mouth yesterday, because I cracked another bottle today and it's actually quite enjoyable. Certainly not my favorite Founders BA offering, but worth trying.

Just had one. Couldn't taste any barrel. Just a sweet boozy IPA. Gonna age them to see if that hop bitterness goes away.

Maybe counter-intuitive to let an IPA warm, but I had to let Frootwood warm before even the faintest barrel taste emerged. Seems like Frootwood and Doom must not be barrel aged as long as KBS.

Yeah I drank doom right at my cellar temp. And let it warm up. Still barely any barrel. But it was still good.

It seems like latly the barrel presence in all founders beers is super low. Maybe cuz it's so mass produced? Who knows

Founders still says KBS gets a year in the barrel, but I could not find anything specific about the time Doom and Frootwood spent in the barrel. Perhaps they just rinsed them through?

Agree. I did a side by side of KBS and SMS. You would thought SMS was the only one barrel aged.

I thought it was just me! I got very little barrel as well. At least when it warmed up I did detect a little, but I was hoping for more barrel.
