For those of you on the South side (not many apparently lol) or southwest burbs, Horse Thief Hollow hit a home run with Parallel Universe Batch 2. It's very close to Other Half in my opinion. Their Northeast by Southwest, not my favorite. But, PU2, man that was good.

I preferred the other NE pale ale they had on tap that day over Stay Lit. If it weren't for the lactose, I think I would have loved it. I thought it was too prominent and took away the hop bite I like. I brought a growler with full intentions to fill it up but decided to pass. Looking forward to the next corridor offering as squeezit and salute your simcoe were delicious.

I totally agree (although I happily drank through 2 howlers of Stay Lit). I almost always prefer any form of IPA not to have lactose in it, and I'm not convinced that NE ones benefit from lactose in any way (at least to my taste).

Interesting. I'm a huge fan of lactose in ipas, however I hate the flavor in Stout's or porters. I think it adds a nice level of sweetness which I like in my ipas without adding Maltiness which I dislike in my ipas.

Yeah, I know plenty of people are (I was never a big Apocalypse Cow fan, either, and that was the first lactose IPA I was really aware of). I like my IPAs on the drier/"saltier" side (like Salute Your Simcoe, or Focal Banger). I'm not saying I actively dislike the lactose, but generally I think I'd prefer the beer without it.

I was with you until I had the beer that you should seek out to change your mind: super fresh Daydream in Green by Other Half. The lactose ok nothing off the table and added to the mouthfeel in that one. Highly recommend

In fairness I used to really like Wizard Fight from Corridor, and that had (has?) lactose in it. I just generally find that it adds sweetness when I don't want it. I'll certainly keep an eye out for Other Half's stuff, though.

Yeah not so much disagreeing with you as listing the beer that altered my perspective. Makes me want to try some of the other big NE IPA's with lactose to compare

Do they sell cans or crowlers? Didn't see the info on their site.

Yeah, I'm dragging my sister along to justify reserving a table. :grinning:

Getting married, dragging a sister to a beer event...kudos to you for really embodying what it means to "beer nerd it right".

If I weren't getting on a plane tomorrow night to head to Arizona, I'd probably have a table reserved for me & the family to "have dinner" there.

I'll be there around 7-7:15 (because damn work). I'm sure the place will be packed so unless I see friends I know get a table, you'll see a tall latino guy standing around the bar somewhere.

I was planning on it, but life may be getting in the way. Have a 6pm reservation that I may not be using. Will post here if I do end up cancelling so someone else can use.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if flights will be offered tomorrow or is it just individual pours?
