Really curious what the pricepoint on a beer like that will be. Also, one can hope for a format that makes more sense like 12oz. or 375ml.

Well, per Facebook, Meerts has been bottled already as of April 9. So presumably waiting on that to condition, and yeah, 750's. Probably $20 or some such, as beer nerds all around have already demonstrated that this price point is acceptable.

I'm guessing it'll be cheaper. The blog post where he introduced it said he's excited to have an offering "at a lower price point and with more frequency."

What does Meerts have to do with a thread discussing O's sour beer releases in 2017? We no longer have to limit conversations to the topic of the thread or is it the new thing to discuss beers from from other breweries than the one stated in a thread?

O'so is affiliated with FFG. It's not a grand conspiracy to hijack the thread.

They aren't affiliated anymore and the untitled art and Meerts has absolutely nothing to do with O'so.

Here you go. Stop arguing. Hop Debacle was delicious.

    Everyone happy?

There won't be any more collaboration releases at O'So? Was this announced somewhere or is it just common knowledge?

Good for O'so if that's the case.

O'so is selling a lot more beer at their brewery only releases since FFG got out of the way....

damnit, now were talking about Funk Factory on the O'so thread again.

Wow, why the hostility? For one, in regards to the most recent post, I half assumed they'd (O'so) have sold more of their stuff before FFG "got out of the way", due to people like me (many I assume) who drove all the way up there primarily FOR FFG. And that's not a shot at O'so, but a reality. Now, that could very well and sounds like some in-the-know know it to be, wrong. So, good for them on selling more product. But yea, is Levi no longer using wort from O'so then?! I thought it a cool collaboration, and one very worthy of discussing in here, but maybe that has gone by the way-side?!

I was being sarcastic. Of course O'so sold a lot more beer when they did a combined release with FFG.

Even the statewide shelf presence of Oso has diminished since the split. Also they are clearly irked by it given their recent "unbridled tart" cheap shot on Twitter.

The recent Gift of Ida was fantastic. Too bad it was super low bottle count and brewery only. That beer would do very well year round on shelves.

I know this post was from over a year ago, but are there any new / seasonal sours you guys plan on putting out for the summer?

Infectious Groove is great, and really the only local sour I can get regularly (the New Glarus Berliner Weiss is a favorite too, but it's expensive and not easy to find). I'm in the Madison area, if that makes any difference at all, thanks!

Their barrel aged sours are brewed and fermented in barrels just like they always have been. Just because it no longer says Funk Factory on the label you think the quality of theirnsours have diminished. Marketer's love marks like you.

I haven't had any trouble finding their releases in the NW part of the state.

Anyone else try Space Ace Oddity? I was blown away by it. Loads of tropical fruit with a nice dose of funk. It paired unbelievably well with The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars (which isn't a stretch, everything pairs well with that album).

Likewise, I'm sure O'so would like people to believe that their sours are just Funk Factory beers with a different label, because they're both "brewed and fermented in barrels." I'm not a brewer, but something (my mouth and his friend, brain) tells me that there's a little more to it than that.
Maybe we can get confirmation from someone at O'so, or even Levi, because you're not the first person I've heard strongly imply, or outright state that they're the same beers.
