Gonna head to Sand City at lunch today to pick up some Mofo and Promises. I haven't been to a release there, so just wondering if it will be crazy at noon when they open? I'm assuming no, given that it's a Friday. If I get there around 1:30 should I be able to get in and out relatively quickly? Thanks.

I would say yes. Report back on how it went.

Originally they posted Even Mo Mofo for sale, I was going to go for that but will pass now.

I was in Northport for work and walked by around 11:35. Gate and door were open so I went in. Sold me cans above 10 mins later. Nobody else there but me and no people starting to line up

Oh they also had Day drifter cans. Not sure when they released these but I never saw a post on it. One of my favorite beers from them and its great its only 5.5%.

Incredibly easy. Got there around 1:30 and was literally in and out in under a minute. Got Mofo, Day Drifter, and Promises. I also picked up some Maggie O and Southdown Bfast Stout since I haven't tried those yet.

As if it is possible for this batch of Mofosaic to be better than the last...it is. Was floored when I tried it.

I was there on Friday - bought some mofo, promises, and day drifter......What I love about Sand City besides their beer are their hours of operation - they are always open. I wish some of the Brooklyn/Queens breweries (and barrier) had hours like this....

First off let me start by saying I absolutely agree. Now from the other perspective I can say maybe SC is always open because they are in the middle of Main St in a populated area where there is always someone to walk in and at least have a beer or two. As for places like Barrier (industrial area), not really within walking distance of much (besides the train) and not really in a residential area, or Other Half (again, not really in the middle of much), there really isn't much incentive to be open 8-10 hours per day every day if no one will be there for a majority of the day.

Haha I went once in 11th grade and I got asked to never come back after trying to debate the pros and cons of binge drinking as a teenager the first day. The pros outweighed the cons significantly.

I got a chance to hit up Sand City a few weeks ago.

I agree, Second Wave was my favorite, even though I gave a better score to Burning Down The House and Oops I Nelsoned!

    I had:
    Second Wave
    Day Drifter
    Burning Down The House
    Radical One
    Oops I Nelsoned My pants
    Man Hands
    Southdown Breakfast Stout

I REALLY enjoyed Burning Down The House, Radical ONE and Oops I Nelsoned. As far as stouts go, the breakfast stout was solid. Not the best I've had, but a very good stout nonetheless. Man Hands to me was good, not great. I just wish they had some cans of Oops, Burning or Second Wave I could of went home with.

Oops, Nelson was one of the better Nelson beers I have had. Radical one seemed heavier on the motueka than the galaxy with lime grassy notes. Nelson was amazing, and radical one was a nice offering as well.

A buddy of mine are planning to head to the brewery today and want to use public transportation. Any advice on getting there? Are there buses from the Northport train station?

I've never seen a bus in Northport but could be really wrong here. May want to consider a taxi/uber.

Thanks. I had a feeling that was the case, but wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

I have never been to that train station, but there are always cabs at trains station on Long Island. And although not legal yet, Uber operates too, just not sure about density of available cars.

Wonder if cans are dropping today? Gonna be close by later for work. They posted something on IG the other day to keep an eye out for the week.

Uber can be VERY tough to come by in Northport. I once waited for over 45 mins before I was able to find a single ride on either Uber or Lyft. Would not recommend relying on this as your only option if time is a concern.
