The Half-Acre thread (2018)

Yup, draft was from Lincoln, bottled from Balmoral.

edit: I posted this last year in this thread, so am fuzzy on the details, but both versions were produced the same, but I believe the equipment was different?

 

That time BHA was hazy on draft is now Chicago beer lore.

 

Just got back from taproom to have one on draft and buy a couple 4-packs. It may not be the same look as last year's draft, but it's actually still tasty! I'm sure many of you are thinking that's impossible (less haze must mean less taste right? ), but I swear it's true.

 

I literally pulled up my photo from 12 months ago as a basis of comparison. It's undeniable. Still tasty this year, not complaining

For those interested, thought I overheard one of the guys in the shop mention their next American Wild Ale will go on sale next Friday.

 

Holy cow, BHA might be the best hoppy beer I've had from Half Acre. I missed out last year, so no basis for comparison but this is one damn fine beer!

 

Definitely in the top 3 all-time beers for me from Half-Acre. Have been showing up for this beer since they began making it about three years ago and have never been disappointed.

 

Guys, does anyone know if Half Acre filter their beer? I can't find the info anywhere in this thread.

 

Bigger fan of Humanimal Stasis but not by much. BHA rules.

 

BHA is my favorite HA beer, really glad they went back to the 16oz cans for these. Haze or not, this beer is stellar

 

had me some vallejo last night. That beer is just spot on

 

Have to agree with this. As someone who likes Vallejo more than Gone Away, this time of year rules for me.

 

Another longtime fan of BHA. Was gone all weekend so only just got to the shop - I wasn't super worried since it's not a DDC but very happy to see you guys left plenty behind to share.

 

BHA is way better than DDC.... now GDDC...? That the real debate

 

Any idea when / if BHA will be hitting binny's?

 

HA said distro would be this week. So I'd suspect they'll start popping up starting today.

 

Champaign Binny's has had a flier posted at the entry since last week that BHA drops June 6. Don't know if that's standard across all of them though.

 

Had BHA yesterday and while I thought it was good I am not crazy in love with it the way others seem to be. Would drink Navaja over it 10 times out of 10.

 

Yeah. Like everything else I loved 5 years ago, times have caught up. It's a nice seasonal change of pace, but after having one, I'd rather have one of the new NEIPAs popping up in the area that just take the BHA flavors and make them louder and bolder...
