I split a can the other night. Flavors are nice but seemed a little thin for a Hefe. Solid brew tho.

    This week's, 6/6, release.....
    ________________________________
Toof Ache (RETURN for the 3rd time. Previous two were 8/2/16 and 11/22/16) is a 6.3% IPA hopped intensely with Mosaic, Simcoe, and Columbus. We added a bunch of organic orange juice to the kettle to help soften the final product. The intent of the addition of juice was to purely soften the beer, not to be a present component in the flavor profile. We increased the amount of orange juice in this batch. Soft, V dank, and insanely crushable. Easily the best batch of Toof we've ever released.
    Shooting for 215-240 cases. $14+tax/4-pack. 6x 4-packs/1x case limit.

Old Old Lions Lions (DEBUT) is the double dry-hopped version of our 8.6% DIPA Old Lions. Hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Motueka and hit with dat double dry-hop for y'all. It's as cray as it sounds.
    Shooting for 185-210 cases. $18+tax/4-pack. 4x 4-packs per person.

Never Scared (DEBUT) is the next offering in our Never fruited Gose series. Clocking in at 4.9% we used pink Himalayan Sea Salt in the kettle and condition this tart Gose on hundreds and hundreds lbs of Pink Guava purée. Bright tropical fruit juice for adults.
    Shooting for 190-210 cases. $17+tax/4-pack. 2x 4-packs per person.

    *LIMITS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

Can't make it this week again, but at least it's an easy pass for me. I'll gladly pick up a gose, but I won't go stand in line for 2 hours for them and Toof Ache is one of my least favorites (at least it looks hazy again instead of the last crystal clear batch I guess).

Yeah I will gladly skip the Toof Ache (now with MORE orange juice!). I loved the first batch of Old Lions, thought it was one of their best to date (didn't get to try batch 2). I honestly can't imagine that adding more dry hops would improve it, at some point more is not always better.

Thank you! I'm a pretty big Veil fanboy, but they don't need to DDH everything. CT > CCTT and I didn't like CT3. MS, depends on the batch but a solid MS batch > MMSS. Old Lions was a surprise hit on B1 - I tried it in line for that White Ferrari release and wound up buying cans without regret. But doubling down on that profile, eh, I'm okay passing or just grabbing a pour to try another time. That said, I'll drink the DDH Idont series all day.

I thought CT3 was great, liked it more than CCTT. Had CT a long time ago so would have to try again. I liked MS3 more than regular MS. But yeah I agree DDH doesnt make eveything better. For me it bridges the line of becoming too juicy.

    Final details of today's release.

3pm Line Update is showing in front of the mural but looks spread out so I'm guessing maybe 50-60ish people.

What kind of leftovers do you guys think we're looking at for opening tomorrow? My fiance is going to be in Richmond and is going to stop in for cans around 4 PM.

I'm sure there will be Toof Ache, but anything else with almost 200 cases of each?

May be a stretch but I can see all 3 making it to tomorrow. The largest case count on a Never beer before this week's was just over 100 cases so this is by far the largest batch to date (by almost double). I do not see 600 (unique) people coming through line tonight. of course there will be those people who will probably double dip but I can see a very small number of cases making it to open tomorrow.

    EDIT:

Agree. Could easily see all three stretching to tomorrow. Toof Ache basically guaranteed, Lions likely, and even a decent shot for Never.

Sure enough, all three made it to Wednesday. There won't even be a need to be there right at opening to snag what's left.

I don`t think anyone ever actually talks about the beers on this thread. Odd, but in following for most of the 47 pages there is very little discussion.

Taste is very subjective so it's hard for most, me included, to accurately describe the flavors as they should be. Regardless of the beer there is always going to be some that love it, some that hate it and some that are middle of the road. I would hate to sway someone's opinion on purchasing or trading for Veil and then my thoughts be the complete opposite of theirs when/if they do try it. I can tell you if I like a beer (I did not try any of this week's release) but I am not refined enough to specifically describe what I like about them. I just know whether I enjoy or do not enjoy something.Anyone on the fence, I believe The Veil is more than happy to let anyone sample their beers before buying and if you don't want to purchase draft until you have a small taste.

But based on reading through the posts on the BTV page I think Never Scared is good, but not one of their best Gose offerings and @oldn00b seems fairly accurate on his assumption of OOLL. I personally did not care for regular OL but that did not surprise me since I'm not particularly a fan of Motueka. I just skimmed the posts but do not recall seeing much comment about Toof Ache.

All 3 cans still available today (Thursday). Guessing only Toof Ache makes it until tomorrow.

Didn't realize what time it was when I posted that. Must have been quite the line at opening if they sold 14 cases (84 4pks) at 1pp in 20 minutes.
