This is just dumb. I'll be bringing cash to do my part to keep the line moving.

In my experiences its not the card that is the problem. If you have a good POS system then it can sometimes be faster than cash...The recent Burial releases up here in AVL have been quick with their systems.

Even when it was cash only, the lines still ran slow. I think some of it has to do with 5+ hours of alcohol consumption. I try to keep it easy for the staff: cash only and I write my order out (I know by that time I'll be slurring my words)

IMO, this should be a bit smoother than aye que Rico. That time, they were offering 3 bottles and 2 cans. This time just 4 bottles but most people will be maxing out (at least early in the line) so not much thinking to do. I pray they don't sell the monsta cans outside lol

Line cutting is notoriously a problem at Wakefield releases. This "first 100 people get a token" thing should only exacerbate the problem.

Looks like the line is gonna run the opposite direction this time.

Just wish they posted the total bottle amount so I'd feel better about it. If only 100 people are guaranteed full allotment, it's gonna be an early one!

    Really?

Where are you generally in line? That you've experienced this?

Which kind of sucks. That side always has the dumpster...that entrance to the apartment that every guy pees at.....etc lol

The building next to Wakefield. Lots of folks joining their "friends" groups after 2 hours in line.

I see line cutting to small degree but usually don't care much. But now I'll be a douche about it. People just show up hours after their friends and join in line. Tough to tell if they are just saying it or cutting but most of the time it's the latter.

Wakefield loves his hype though. Just release the count!

I'm sure by 9 the smell of 100 barrel aged stouts will have overpowered the dumpster scent. Piss Alley on the other hand...i feel bad for the folks in that area. But atleast the school & Wynwood mall area has enough space for folks to post up and drink without blocking businesses

I think it's an attempt to fix the problem, like the ball cards were, BUT that doesn't stop it from happening right up until 10am. And I'm pretty sure there will be well over 100 people by 10am. It happens other places too, it sucks, and no, I don't expect the breweries to police it. They do what they can(coins, cards, etc...). There's always going to be those customers that think they are more important than everyone else. Every time I see an asshole in this community, I keep my personal peace by reminding myself that the good folks in this community still outweigh the bad.

    ya

    sad.

not that you are saying you always get cut or it always happens.....

at the same time, i honestly feel at least some of it is people who go back and forth in line and just return to their original spot before it opens up.

Yeah I do that same thing. After I get my place, I'm up and down the line the whole time sharing bottles, seeing friends, etc. What Im talking about are when there is a group of 3 people in front of me, and that group is three people for a couple hours, then all of a sudden another friend comes by and adds their Chair/cooler, then another, and another.

In another situation the group directly behind me was 4 people(2 couples) all morning long. They had friends further back in line that showed up an hour or so after they did. Those friends came and went sharing beers, but kept their stuff at their place in the back....until right when word hit that Wakefield was handing out the baseball cards. At that point they came back up by us, got their ball cards, went back and put their stuff away in their car, then joined their friends behind us.
