Really? That's a little surprising. Although I have no idea how much they started with. I wonder if they will do a thing where they will only stock a certain amount per day in the cooler and put more out the next day.

This is hilarious that all I see is people complain about hop hands and how its not great. But wait now its in a store in the fridge lets go buy it all. Then go line up for more beer the next day, not to mention they are probably the same people that were also there on Sunday as well. The psychology of this whole phenomena blows my mind. Does anyone think like I do that this will reach a tipping point and these breweries profit margins will fall substantially? Certainly seems to be no sign at the moment but it has to reach a tipping point you would think.

Maybe, but I've heard people claiming that "We're at the tipping point!" and "The bubble is sure to burst!" for a solid 3 years now.

Craft sales' growth have slowed from its exponential rate, but it's still growing.

How much of the beer that is purchased from Tired Hands is for the puposes of commerce (i.e., trading)? If I was a beer trader (and I am not) I would continue to purchase Tired Hands beers as long as they had value for my transactions with zero regard as to the 'quality' of what is inside the can. As long as somebody in California (or where ever) is willing to send me the beers I want for the Tired Hands beers I can purchase I will continue to keep buying Tired Hands beers regardless of potentail quality issues.

As long as Tired Hands is a 'hot ticket item' for trading (or re-sale) I do not see things slowing down. Just my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

Yes, "regular people" who regulalry purchase the same product will indeed notice when there is a change.

You really do not need to be a certified Cicerone or a certified BJCP beer judge here.

    Cheers!

HopHands has pretty much zero trade value in my experience, unless maybe it's someone who's never tried Tired Hands before and just wants to try something from them.

I get the trade value/FOMO when they can something new or something highly desirable like a Milkshake or Punge, but I really don't get the psychology of it with HopHands. It's a really good beer, but I'll take a South County Cosmic Nod over it any day, and I can buy that at my local distributor any time I want.

I think it holds a lot more weight when someone who pretty much drinks the same beer without branching out much notices a difference. For BA folks that are constantly trying different beers their palates are constantly shifting. I've had the same exact beer two days in a row from the same batch taste different.

Judging by the amount of crap that never sells at distributors and the sheer number of breweries that keep opening, I'm quite sure the market will see a sharp downturn at some point. It's already badly over-saturated with mediocre beer that nobody buys.

However, that is why branding is so important. The best breweries will not be hurt much when things start to go tits-up. We saw this show already in the 1990s, albeit on a much smaller scale - breweries that were run well and made good products are still around today. Those that didn't went out of business.

This is the first time the cooler has been filled w/ cans (outside of Anniversary) so there is novelty in buying beer from the Gen Store... even Hop Hands. If they keep filling it with Hop Hands and this continues, then I'd be surprised with you.

Some great points above especially on the hot item logic. And I know we've heard the bubble will burst for years now but can people keep shelling out 100$ If not more for a case then spend the money to trade or ship. I guess we'll see over the next few years.

if I had to guess, I would say not nearly as much as people in this thread seem to believe. Especially with HopHands, as jojo2112 stated.

I think its a huge logical fallacy when people say "the same people who do (thing) are the same people who then go and do (contradictory thing)!!!" I see this all the time on this forum, especially regarding breweries selling out and people waiting in line for BCBS. Just because people criticize Tired Hands beer for being inconsistent and overpriced and people wait in line and pay lots of money for Tired Hands beer does not mean its the same group of people doing both.

I think you would be fine, especially for the alien church

Thanks, Nick! Shooting to go. Is Go Ride a Bike worth picking up?

Honestly don't know. I feel like I have had it in the past, but don't remember it.... alien church is usually a great beer. And if you are into barrel aged saisons, check out the general store. They are some of the best beers that they make (if you are into the style)

It's worth picking up a 4 pack just to try it, but it's not one of their best efforts. It's kind of a thinner HopHands. Personally I wish they would have canned Bird With Strings or Senseless and Scentless if they wanted to go with the sessionable theme.
