LOL I can't seem to get there on a day they are filling the Jooses. Any rhyme or reason to the days they are filling these? I know they always fill them on Tuesdays, but they also seem to fill them just about every day of the week. 0 for 2 in the last 2 weeks.

Agreed about the schedule of them. It seems to vary but An did make a comment in a group a few days ago that Tues and Thurs is their plan on JOOSE Crowlers. Of course if they end up with a stockpile of product that does not move each of those days I would expect it to be more frequent from week to week. I think they stay away from doing them on the weekend very much because it's already busy enough so they would want to pull in customers on slower days (or a day non-locals will be in town for another release down the road.)

Do they do crowlers on the weekends?

Answer does crowlers of their IPAs any day with no limit. More recently they started crowlering their JOOSE which is only available when announced. Limits on the JOOSE are normally 1 or 2 PP, but always stated. They keep their social media very updated and Tom does an amazing job of keeping this thread updated as well.

Exactly what @Kjohn510 said. If you are ever curious what's on tap at any time you can check Untappd since they are a Verified Venue. They do a great job with all of the social media avenues being current.

They also will do Growlers on many of their Guest Taps. Untappd is not always accurate on which ones of those they fill so best to ask. They only Crowler house beers. If you do get growlers just keep in mind they will only fill the swing top styles. If you don't have one they have them for sell and if prices on those have not changed in the past year or so they are a great cost. I think the 32oz one is only $5 and the 64oz (not sure on cost) is the genie bottle style.

I must be freaking blind because I can never find the taplist in untappd for a verified venue. it only shows every beer they ever made, not what is currently available. HALP

    Nic,

When typing "Answer Brewpub" into the search on Untappd, there will be 3 options: "Beer, Brewery, Venue." Be sure to hit venue then select "The Answer Brewpub" under verified venues.

My guess is that when you search you are selecting "The Answer" under "Brewery" instead of "The Answer Brewpub" under "Venue." When you see "The Answer Brewpub" with a yellow circle and check next to it that is the one to select.

The Venue will show the current tap list with prices and what is available for crowlers.

    Hope this helps. Cheers!

    ok, thanks. that works.
maybe it's just me but I always assumed 'venue' meant bar/taphouse... and I'm looking for breweries

I think places can pay Untappd to be a "verified venue" and add the additional information like a tap list and prices. I know what you mean though.

    Haha what can you do?

I got some Never Scared from Veil. It's tasty, but definitely not the same as these JOOSE's. The Stonefruit and Strawberry Rhubarb both sound delicious...

That is correct. I think the the last rate I knew of was $600/yr to be a verified venue. Really good value if you ask me. I do base where I am going to visit lots of times, even local breweries, by what is currently on tap.

maybe it's a good deal if you're a brewery who doesn't bother updating their own FB/Instagram/Twitter feeds with what is on tap, but then again, why have any of those and not bother updating them?
since you have to search for the brewery specifically, do you know anyone who uses untappd that doesn't ALSO use 1 of the FB/Instagram/Twitter combo? seems like extra work (you can update the 3 social media sites I listed simultaneously with 1 action, untappd would require extra effort on top of the above)...

You do not necessarily need to search for the brewery specifically. If you are in the area then you can simply pull up a list of nearby Verified Venues. I use it all the time when I travel. Instead of figuring out who is around and going to their individual websites and social media I just pull up Untappd and I get a 1 stop shop for all locations (breweries, restaurants, etc) that are verified venues and can see what's available. Much easier than going to everyone's page or site. If it is a brewery that has a high social media presence then an updated taplist could get lost in with all of their others posts so one would have to scroll to find it. The Answer also links their Untappd taplist through their own website as well as through Facebook so that is essentially doing what you have suggested. A single update and that will also show on those platforms.

So i got 3 crowlers brought back a few weeks ago.....grand larceny, extra credit and 1 other thats eluding me at the moment. Grand larceny was a great ipa with huge resinous nose and really liked what the lupulin pow pow added. The other 2, both ipas were belgian messes! No signs of hoppy bitterness and nose was like st bernardus or a heavy estery nose! They didnt have any belgians on draft so I figured wrong beer filled is out of question......anybody else have this problem?

Sure did. The other one was Southern Bounty I believe where I had an issue. Any case, apparently they were given the wrong yeast and were not aware of it. I suspect this won't be a problem going forward, but that was the explantion I was given from someone familiar with the situation.
