Chicagoland NE IPAs (2018)

Ok, I have an idea that I am kicking around.

As it has been mentioned before in this thread, blind tastings are fun and enlightening. I completely agree and I wish more people would participate in them. So, I thought I'd do something about that.

Here's what I'm proposing:

• 12-20 participants
• Tasting 12 of your favorite NEIPAs *
• I'll host here at the pub and arrange stewards and all necessary materials
• It's not a competition but each participant will have a note card and can rank them as they see fit. We can also set it up so that there can be discussion about each beer (after participants are given a chance to gather their unbiased opinions).
• I don't want to charge for this...but I'm also not sure on how "participants" get invited. One thing is for sure: You bring the beer, you get a spot. Not unlike a bottle share. With this many people though, it's going to have to be 64oz of beer or more.
• If enough people are interested in this, let's get it planned out. Maybe shoot for an August date to give everyone a chance to call in their favors/travel across country

* 4 or so of them should be from Chicagoland (as to keep the event in the spirit of this thread), the rest can be from anywhere. The selection of the beers is something that will require some discussion. It's going to be a group effort. I don't want a PA going up against a DIPA. So, we should probably pick an abv range and stick with that.

BTW...Stay Lit on tap at Beer Cellar. What a stellar beer. Really excited to get a pour of it when I thought my chances were long gone.
