Light, bright golden color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt and slightly firm floral hops.

On entry there is a malt presence that manages to be full without being rich, rather a dry firmness which is quickly matched by the hops. Brewer's description doesn't say what hops but they taste noble to me and seem to be use as bittering rather than dry hopping. Yet they're not really bitter but firm comes close to the mark. A mouth filling burst of malt and hops that wake up the palate while remaining dry. A touch of sweetness does appear in the aftertaste balanced by hop bitterness. Flavors become richer as the beer warms.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Another normal day for me with the usual laundry, bottle returns, and doing some work to catch up before tomorrow. I had a nice haul yesterday of new beers to review to keep me busy for a bit.

Amazing IPA as usual, glad we finally got some fresh stuff around here lately. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, peach, citrus rind, and pine hops; with some light honey/bready malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/spicy bitterness. Very smooth finish with moderate hop stickiness and light malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Increasing resin/rind dryness, with no astringency. I love Simcoe and Amarillo hops. Hopefully with the new Virginia Beach location, we will see fresh Alpine more often moving forward. Seems to be the case since the turn of the year.

Found a random single of this yesterday. Still tasting awesome! Flavors of nutty dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, smoke, char, and light molasses/dark fruit; with some piney/light citrusy hop notes. Moderate roast/char and pine bitterness; with a medium-full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter roast/hop dryness. Super smooth, minimal warming ABV. Would definitely grab again if I see more.

Awesome DIPA! Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted bread malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced bready/grainy creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel; slightly slick and resinous with increasing dryness. Never astringent. Super smooth, mildly warming 10.1%. Just as great as I remember from 2014. Juicy hops with balanced malts; but not overly sweet or syrupy. This was my last bottle.

Insane stuff! Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge brownie, vanilla, cinnamon, chili pepper, smoke, toasted dark bread, and light dark fruit/char; with some herbal spice earthiness as well. Bittersweet balanced finish; very full body, with an amazing creamy/silky mouthfeel; with light touches of sticky/chalky roast and slickness. Minimal dryness, but zero cloying sweetness. Minimal pepper heat, but really great flavor presence. Very rich/decadent, with spot on balance of spices. This has a thicker/fuller body and better mouthfeel than regular Bomb!, which makes this just a bit better overall for me; but I always love both. Glad they brought it back. Will have to grab a few more while it's available.

    Cheers

I hope this band releases a new album soon. Really proggy for a tech death band with the latest 2012 release, compared to the other LPs.

    Then this. ..

After last year's grapefruit hibiscus radler, this was a sure shot buy and it doesn't disappoint. Its kind of similar to the pink starburst candies but in a good way. As sweet as they could have done it without being too much, with an AAL type backing. But not fowl. Kind of like the Mexican lager thing going around. Similar to their numero Uno.

I also stopped buying singles. I now dedicate to the sixer. No more places in decent distance of me sell them anymore.... and im banned depending who you ask, (refuse to enter) the place that does. But it keeps my spending down and I feel certain beers actually show subtle nuisances as you drink the second or third so its all good. Cheers.

The beer tastes awesome today... this is Bapelsin IPA from Emmaboda Bryggeri. Emmaboda is a new brewery, founded in May 2016. They are quickly becoming one if my favorite breweries, everything they make is very good or better!

Taking a break from mowing the lawn, and this is tasting great. The second pic ... I took this yesterday at the Taste of Country music festival at Hunter Mountain (NY). I'm not much of a country music fan, but my company is involved with the permitting and we get free passes. I didn't stick around for the headliner (Miranda Lambert), but I saw this Courtney Cole person.
