There's definitely a threshold where you go from low carb to "flat beer". I do believe that some people would tolerate nearly flat beer because it's more juice-like. It's a decisive characteristic that I know to tread lightly upon. So, when I speak of tweaks, you can assume them to be micro vs macro.

Not a fan of the lower carb NE IPAs. In fact, I visited both Forbidden Root and Corridor this weekend. While both quite good, my takeaway was that I enjoyed Corridor more because of the higher carb. I like this style to have the "juice" taste while still feeling like a beer if that makes any sense.

    Perfectly illustrates my point.

I think if this is something that, if successful and you'd like to do it again, this should definitely have it's own thread. We can toss reminders in this thread to check it out. But I am sure that there will be many discussions that would be just in regards to the event that it could get confusing in this thread which already hits heavy traffic. Just my thoughts on it.

I apologize for doing this, both because it's tiresome AND because I'm sure Half Acre hates it, but I'm curious as to whether this will end up being relatively NE style, based on the description:

I think it will look the part, but I feel like they will be wise not to describe it as such.

Yeah, after how hard they've worked to distance themselves from the term NE IPA, and based on what has historically happened to beers/breweries that call their beers NE style and don't look/taste the part, I agree.

have Half Acre beers mentioned using 'flaked oats' previously?

Also, I guess that "English yeast strain" is also a subtle hint of where this may be going....

You post the announcement here rather than the HA thread due to speculation of its apperance? C'mon now.

So this past weekend was Beer Camp at Navy Pier which had a few NE IPA choices. I have to give a shout out to St. Errant, because Strange Loops was very delicious. I finally got to try dank meme which was also really good. They had a dank meme coconut beer as well, I had just a taste and it was ok. I definitely preferred dank meme. Lunar Brewing (in the burbs) had little green men. It was ok. I got to try Middle Brow Sells Out. I'm not sure what happened there, but it was the biggest miss for me. There were a few others, Maplewood, 18th Street that had NE IPA's which were great as always. But when are they really not, tbh. Ok that was my takeaway from this weekend.

Sorry, I try to not just post "here's the latest beer from X brewery" unless it's stylistically relevant somewhere. However, I've also posted on the other thread so...I hope you're happy!

Which is what? That everyone has a different interpretation of what the style should be?

@BJP I'd definitely start a separate thread. Will just be cleaner overall.

Right. That perfect for one person = flat/terrible for another.

I go backnforth as a consumer and it gets even more complicated as a brewer. TBH, I like it both ways. So trying to pick a carbonation target is another example of how many variables there are when deciding on a "profile".

Anyone hear any info about Noon Whistle's Squishy Gummy release Thursday? I hoping they do it early in the day so I can grab a growler on my lunch break.
