I was able to make it to PR and get my bottles and crowlers. Arrived about 9:45 and was around 200-250 or so in line, so the secret's out

Terrifically run event, at least as far as purchasing your allotment was concerned. I was in a rush and unable to stay for pours of anything, so I can't report on that side of things (they divided up the allotment and pour purchases) but it looked like the line was steadily moving. When I left, there were probably still 100-150 in line, and people were re-entering the line for 2nd-3rd purchases. Overall I would say it was executed tremendously and even with an increase in shitlords descending on Decorah, Pulpit Rock handled it very well. Looking forward to the next one, but now I'll probably have to show up 3-4 hours early instead of an hour ahead of time.

On a side note, it looks like the laundromat (?) next door closed and Pulpit Rock has purchased or leased the extra space to expand their brewing capacity or taproom space. So that's great and hopefully they will be able to crank out as much beer as possible.

Cracked one on Saturday night when I got home with a couple of buddies and enjoyed Rechoncho a bit more from the bottle than on tap - take into account the keg had just been tapped. That body on both this and the POP (how is this even a Porter?) were immense a la Pudgy. Killer mélange of cinnamon and heat on the Rechoncho with a still, thick body for days and that glass stain... Drool!

I had a guy get me a bottle, but he didn't try it when he was there. But thanks for your help on the subject!!!

I didn't get there in time to grab a bottle, but I was able to try everything on tap.

Rechoncho was awesome (again), but the fruit sours stole the show. All of them were great. Pillow Talk kinda stole the show at Pudgy day, and it made a strong run again. But holy crap was Peaches & Kream great. The fruit sours at PR are some of the best in the Midwest, maybe farther.

Pillow talk is great, but that Marto Arcola in line... probably the best non-SP sour anyone in the Midwest has put out in a few years.

    Via Pulpit Rock's Facebook Page:

Quick little 2nd Anniversary Party update:

It all goes down on Saturday, 8/19 with doors opening at 8am. On tap will be a few imperial stout variants & fruited sours, among other favorites. #Gallagher will be available in bottles (750ml for $20, 700 total/limit 2 per.) New 2nd Anniversary glassware and a truckload of DIPA & Pour-Over crowlers will be available as well. Luther Catering will offer food for purchase and the requisite free coffee & donuts will flow.

    Further details as they develop.

Anyone have any comments on #Gallagher?

Smashing all that fruit on all those innocent people? Kinda seems like an asshole.

If this is the same one that was on tap when Assassin and KBBS was released, it was interesting for a sip or two. I personally wouldn't buy it for $5, let alone $20.
