On June 30th, we're setting off a double release.

Deep Space Double India Pale Ale will join our can lineup in a 6 month split with Navaja DIPA.

Dreamt up as the volumized version of our House IPA, Deep Space is a continuation of the positivity its tap room bound counterpart memorializes.

Citra and Falconer's Flight on a bed of 2 Row and Caramel malts encourages the sticky, pungeant exploration of brighter stars.

    ALSO

Freedom of '78 Guava IPA cans.

This beer was first brewed in 2010 and brought back two years ago because its hold on island life was so crispy we couldn't deny ourselves the pleasure.

Its return sparked a new tradition of Half Acrens cramming onto a porch in Logan Square to take the photo featured on the label. It's getting harder and harder to pull off; this year we broke the railing, the party lives on.

May they both take your holiday weekend as far as it can go.

My favorite event of the year goes on sale tomorrow. Big North was spectacular last year.

    $70+ seems kind of steep?

Worth it. Last year it was essentially unlimited beer with tons of one-offs

Your favorite event of the year even though this is only the second year? That must be the jealousy coming out of me because I can't go.

Things like the Big North and Mornin' Delight release really should be scheduled before my vacation plans are solidified.:slight_frown:

I literally went in with zero expectations last year and came out a believer. This is better than anything I've ever been to beer wise. Half Acre is a world class brewery who treats their customers right. I love it.

I loved the event last year, but can I ask what makes it better than anything you've ever been to beer wise?

It's 5 hours of every half acre beer you can think of,
There was no limitations. They didn't oversell tickets. They just wanted everyone to have a great time. Bored of waiting to get into the fest? Here's a beer while you wait. I just felt like I was hanging out at a neighborhood block party. No one cared about whalez. People drank beer and had a great time. I didn't feel ripped off.

It's only the second year it's been called Big North, but they've pretty much had a party every summer save 1 (because of Balmoral breaking ground) for the last 7 years, and they've all basically been the same awesome free for all.

I couldn't go last year, but I think they lasted awhile. The year before, when it was pub only, they lasted weeks.

With the limit being 15 tickets, I think they'll be available for a while.

My friends and I are going to purchase these as soon as they go on sale but I am pretty sure they lasted for at least a month last year.

I was skeptical of the price last year ($65) but everyone in my group who went loved it.

You can drink all the Benthic with almost no wait. Plus Big Hugs and Big Hugs variants, Orin, and a ton of different IPAs. The tomahawk throwing was pretty fun last year too.

Last year was one of the craziest beer events I've ever been too. Giant pours of amazing beers. I had to leave after an hour and a half because I surely would have gotten alcohol poisoning had I stayed. My own dumb fault but seriously you will drink $70 worth of beer.
