I have that Kane fifty-fifty insulated growler. Yes it is a bit hard to pour but if you can deal with it, it keeps any liquid COLD forever. I used it for water on the beach on a 100 degree day and the water stayed cold all day. Conclave filled if for me no problem.

yeah i mainly use mine for bringing large quantities of water to outdoor things.. use it every Sunday for softball and from time to time will fill with beer if i know I won't have access to a refrigerator or cooler. I'm sure i could have gotten a cheaper bottle of similar design but I got mine when Kane first sold them and it was just too cool to not buy it right then and there and have it filled with head high....

This may be a silly question, but is simply rinsing the growlers good enough to be able to fill it with water and make it taste fine? I love my Kane Growler but have only ever filled it with beer. The only way I "wash" it is rinsing it with water multiple times then letting water sit in it for a while, dump it out, and rinse it out a few more times. Something more I can do? What a novel concept to drink water out of a growler

If it's dishwasher safe, that would certainly do the trick.

Im still on the fence in making a decision to grab one of these (the pouring issue and varying growler fill type-policy at breweries being primary concerns). If there's not a Saturday release this week, I'll probably be looking at less cans/more growler fills and impulse buy this bitch.

I find that as long as I rinse it immediately after I finish the growler, then just rinsing it with water is fine. I'm pretty sure thats even what is recommended, If its been sitting with over night or something I will typically use a very small amount of soap and keep rinsing and shaking it until all the soap residue is gone.

Pretty sure you shouldn't put those vacuum insulated jugs in the dishwasher.

It really is a great growler to have. I love it and use it all the time. And as far as cleaning it, I rinse with soap and warm water and use a cleaning brush/sponge. Water tastes fine.

Missed the Raspberry Cloud Cover announcement this past weekend. Perhaps ideal for the approaching months: sweet, tart, refreshing raspberries?

I'm a bit surprised to see the relatively low turnout for the Barcade event. Not crowded at all and plenty of people who are here aren't ordering Kane brews. More Sunday Brunch and Party Wave for me!
I'll never forget the Kane event that went down at Barcade about 2 years back. They had at least 20 Kane taps including vanilla ANTEAD, SB, and a bunch of double dry hopped variants. Best tap takeover event I've attended

Funny you say that because one of my favorite tap takeovers ever was also at Barcade about two years ago. It was a Carton event and they brought a killer lineup including Regular Coffee, Irish Coffee, Wiscovation, Intermezzo, GORP, SS Kentucky, Tharsis, Wayne's Way and SS Yirgacheffe on top of their more common offerings.

The event was on a Thursday and every beer was tapped as soon as they opened. There was no crowd at all the entire 3-4 hours we were there. It was almost noon and I distinctly remember playing the Simpsons arcade game with some buddies sipping Irish Coffee while Back to the Future II played on the bar TV. Not sure if it'll ever get any better than that for me, folks.

I was there that day too! I remember having a flight with 07302, Rickey, Pumpkin Cream, Reg Coffee, and one other I can't quite remember, might've been Shipwreck. Awesome event

It's glorious when you go to one of these events and it isn't the madhouse you expect it to be. I once went to a Founders tap takeover in Brooklyn that had CBS and the place was pretty much empty when we got there. It was so empty that our table was able to order a second round of CBS. This was about six years ago, something like that will probably never happen again at a CBS tapping.
