@buckeye1275, I admire anyone who is brave enough to dump beer, especially when accompanied by a photo. However, a fresh beer from Stone and RuinTen being a perennial favorite for years makes me saddened you hated it so. I have yet to find a bottle and will absolutely purchase one once found but your reaction is cause for concern. :slight_frown:

I hope your next beer is much kinder to your palate.

#2, this is the Pils, a Czech-style pilsner. It is scratching my noble-hop itch.

    Magnify Low Visibility Pale Ale

Absolutely delicious. Just a couple months ago I thought this was a decent attempt at a NE pale (B-), now it's really tweaked to perfection. I'd say it's just as good, perhaps better than Fort Point (probably an A-). I have a Motueka Dry Hopped Fort Point in the fridge, maybe a blind taste test is in order

I am a huge fan of Stone. It saddened me to have to pour this out. If you are OK with vanilla in your beer, don't be wary of this one. You'll probably be OK. But personally, I am not a fan of vanilla. I just didn't read the label closely enough when I purchased.

Good evening BA, happy Friday! Ended my week on a nice productive note. Got a lot done today, almost finished with cleaning up the data for my reports due in the next few weeks. Also helped out my boss on other new vehicle programs that are coming up for approval soon. Running low on new beers as usual, might go shopping tomorrow. Going to Ohio next weekend, so that will definitely help out a lot.

    Today's Reviews:

Excellent NEIPA! Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, melon, pear, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, biscuity malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied bready/grainy creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Minimal dryness. Very drinkable. Just as great as the regular Dirty Dank Juice, but much more heavy citrus and stone fruit notes from the Amarillo. Same great malt balance. Both are probably the least bitter NEIPAs I've had yet. Taste like fruit juices. Minimal dankness despite the name. Need to find a Mango/Peach. Odd Side said they are releasing a new variant every two weeks now. Passion and Pineapple soon. 4.05

Really tasty APWA. Nice head retention and lacing for the style. Aromas and flavors of juicy pineapples, apricot, peach, pear, melon, lemon, and berry; with moderate wheat, biscuit, light honey malt sweetness; bit of herbal/floral/grassy hops and yeasty earthiness. Very mild herbal bitterness and tangy fruit tartness on the finish. Medium bodied bready/grainy wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Minimal dryness, no cloying sweetness. Really flavorful and refreshing. Great mouthfeel/body for the low ABV. Great balance of authentic fruits and wheat beer flavors. American wheat yeast profile as expected. Really enjoyed this. 3.78

Review 5500. 2017 vintage. This is absolutely insane! One of the thickest, darkest beers I have ever seen. Amazing head retention and lasting lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, fudge, molasses, caramel, toffee, cinnamon, chili pepper, nuttiness, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of tobacco, leather, raisin, plum, figs, smoke, and charcoal. Light roast/char bitterness and pepper spice on the finish; perfectly bittersweet. Light-medium carbonation and very full bodied. Very creamy, silky, and rich mouthfeel. Very mild slickness, chalky roast, and spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Touch of increasing roast/char dryness; never acrid or astringent. Very minimal building pepper heat through the glass, but has all of the flavors. Really damn near perfect balance of spice flavors; with insane levels of rich stout complexity. Very mildly increasing warmth of 11% through the glass. Can't really say I prefer this over Bomb!, seeing as I can get it all the time; but pretty much equal level of amazing-ness. Glad I finally got to try this. 4.53

Transient Mind to Devour DIPA. As the brewery already recognized, this is becoming a little over-carbonated; however, it is still an absolute banger. So much tropical juicy goodness.

Oh, definitely! I love getting iced tea when I eat Thai. I never thought too much about what was in it, but this beer did capture the spirit quite nicely

Liquid Riot All is Illusion DIPA (dry-hopped with Citra and Mosaic lupulin powder).

Paired that with a wild boar burger with aged cheddar, blueberry BBQ sauce, and apple slices. It was gone before I thought to take a picture... :flushed:

I went with it on draft first and deemed it was good enough for some to take home. Elevated is definitely a palate destroyer.

I want to say it's 1.0 more abv than prior batches with more 'ibu'. 5.5/25 last time vs 6.5/40. A 1abv change could be altering your sweetness perception. Definitely a preference thing. I agree it's leaning on sweet with literally no bitterness. First can in and I'm catching that tropical fruit flavor way in the background. It's having me want more and more.

Call my palate weird but I had elevated in cans last week and that one is just don't doing it for me with this heat. High bitterness comes and goes for me perefence wise. I'm glad we have many options now.

I like how they call it a postmodern IPA. And not NE style or Vermont style.
