Tired Hands (June 2017)

Man, if they were all like that, I'd be down every week. Got in line (inside) around 6:15 and there were maybe 10 people in front of me. In and out in under 5 minutes with a full allotment.

 

Weird how that works. They release 2 of their absolute best beers, with a day's notice to prepare, and there's plenty to go around. Release a new milkshake of questionable quality without any notice, though, and the line will be at Cricket by 3pm. I think I'm going to start skipping the latter releases and just go for Church, Pineal, etc.

 

It's simple - the shakes, one offs, new beers, trade really well/quickly vs staple core beers.

 

I know there's a lot of love for AC (personally I'd put it somewhere in the middle of their cans, but obviously that's a subjective assessment), but I wouldn't call it a release of their "best" beers, especially given how divisive High Road seems to be.

 

So still no place to really get an idea of what is at the general store beer wise right now?

 

Not that I have seen, unfortunately. They had a mostly fully stocked fridge of HopHands last night though I can tell you.

 

Yeah the couple of times I have gone it's been nice that the fridge has been keeping up with the hophands demand but I was mainly wondering about the bottle selection as they post on instagram that they are adding new bottles so maybe a more detailed post is coming. Just curious and want to know before I go if they have run out of anything etc.

 

Last night they had: Obliterative, Eyes Closed & Open, Hysterical Obelisk, Undertow, Prayer Group, Ourison, Shambolic and Heavy Gem Virga from what I remember. But yes, I agree with your underlying point that it would be nice to know what their bottle and can stock are on any given day.

 

Anyone have an idea what that can is for this week?

 

My guess would be We Are All Infinite Energy Vibrating At The Same Frequency with new art work, but who knows?

 

Looking at the old label, looks like it has a pretty similar design with the hands

I can post food stuff too if anyone is interested and if it looks like it's going to be only HopHands then I won't bother. Also Habilis is great and you should definitely go pick up a bottle of Prayer Group for $10 over at the General Store.

 

Still keeping my fingers crossed for a Double Milkshake this week... Or a triple can release going into the holiday weekend...

 

I did the CSA last year, and it was growlers, I also was concerned week 1 when it was HopHands, but it was something different every week after that. Good Luck!

 

Looks like gatherer this week as well.

 

Hate when they take all day to make the announcement...

Getting HopHands in the csa made me realize that i haven't had it in awhile, especially in a can. This beer is fantastic, crazy aromatic, smooth yet clean bitterness, just really refreshing.

 

What's the CSA?

 

4 pack of beer, half loaf of bread, produce from local farms, wedge of birch run cheese every week or two
