Had Evil Smoosh on tap at a bar in Philly over the weekend and wow - this may be one of the worst beers I've had in recent times. This tasted like it was brewed by someone who got shut out at a Hands shake can release and decided to brew a homebrew strawberry milkshake. Truly the definition of a rip off hype beer. I can't believe the amount of time people waited in line for this. What garbage.

Hmm. Seems like someone is taking a page out of another’s book (i.e. country beers)

I didn't realize I was at this point in my beer nerdom but when I saw that post this morning it elicited a near "Anderson Cooper level" eye roll.

Whom/what is "country beer" referring to?

Think @M-Fox24 is referring to Suarez Family Brewery in Hudson, NY. They brew "country beers".

Some of them. When I stopped there I only drank their lagers and porter, so I can't comment.

Suarez seems to use the label for a variety of beers :

    CURRENTLY ON TAP

PALATINE PILS // classic german pils
QUALIFY PILS // hoppy german pils
MS FRANK // franconian keller lager
HOMESPUN // hoppy spelt pale ale // 5% abv
LOOK NO FURTHER // hoppy american style pale ale
CATCH A WAVE // old school west coast hoppy pale ale
ROUND THE BEND // porter // 5.3% abv
100 FT NORTH // country beer brewed with wheat (no growler fills)

    BOTTLES

100 FT NORTH // blend #2 country beer with wheat
CALL TO MIND // botanical county beer
SLOW BUSTLE // country beer brewed with honey
BIG NIGHT // country pale ale
TRIANGULAR NATURE // buckwheat country beer blend #2
    MERKEL // cherry country beer

"Our country beers are made with very special yeasts. I suppose you could equate them to other farmhouse type ales, but we don't brew in a farmhouse ; ). Trying to cultivate the term here"

SOLE followed suit and interpreted them "as beer brewed with rustic grains, many unmalted and local, with a melange of esoteric yeast strains that harken back to terroir-based farm beers, however a bit different than Franco/Belgian saisons or farmhouse ales... @suarezfamilybrewery does an excellent job creating country beers of distinction"

Sole comes across as a beer huckster. Quality seems secondary to the marketing and sales tactics.

SOLE might, Suarez wouldn’t…Some might be insulted by “these” DDH country beers, not that I have anything against SOLE, but the terminology seems off

Anyone there today? Inquiring minds would like to know. Just curious if Fruity Dabs cans have any chance of lasting into this evening or if the initial rush will clean it all out. Also curious about impressions in general
    Thanks!

They certainly have a knack for being pretentious. Why they aren't going to have signage at the new location:

A flag is way cheaper than a sign. Give them a few months and they will have a sign. Easton isn't LA and a place with no sign isn't cool - it is weird.

So I am going to be golfing out that way this Sunday and was thinking of stopping by the brewry. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some info. It looks like they are just opening this week so is the general concensus that it will be a madhouse on Sunday? Do they have packaged beer to go? I can't really tell from instagram if the stuff they post are "releases" or always available. I saw something about certain beer only being available to some type of club members? Are we going to show up and not be able to try anything good?

I get that its a new location so I understand if there isn't much info out there yet, but also don't want to waste my time (and travel in the wrong direction) if it won't be worthwhile.

    Thanks
