Newcastle Brown Ale was my first love. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was my second. Drank a ton of both of them starting in the late 90's.

Molson Brador, back in the 80's when I still lived in Detroit. It got to the point of weekly drives to the BRO in Windsor to stock up.

It was a series. Started with Erdinger Hefe which led to Bells Oberon and Two Hearted. Ended with DFH 90 Min IPA, and I'm hooked on good beer for life.

This will show my age a bit but there were very few choices when I first started to enjoy beer. So Moosehead was the first beer available that tasted better than pabst or miller. Heineken was in second place.

Either Pete's Maple Porter or Redhook ESB. I knew beer could be "okay" prior to those two, but those are the first beers I remember truly being enamored with.
Prior to those I only drank cider and early alcopops.

Started at 17 in 1991 with Canadian beers of the Molson variety and Moosehead. Quickly appreciated imports such as Guiness, Sam Smiths, New Castle, etc. Next on the horizon was the West Coast beers - Sierra Nevada, Anchor, Anderson Valley. When I really loved a beer though was Bells Soulson - used to buy these bombers by the case (well, really I had someone else buy them as I was only 20) This was the only local brewery in MI in 1994 and/but this was a great beer!!! For you who weren't around back then this was the first generation of what is now Oberon and, trust me was a way better beer than what Oberon is today....and back then only paid $4.00 a bomber.

Used to order 2 cases a month June - August as a 20 year old. Yes I loved the beer and loved those days!!!!!!

Ha! Me too. Cherry Wheat was my jam at college when I was feeling fancy and wanted a "sophisticated" beer.
Also, my roommate's girlfriend turned 21 about 10 months before me and I asked her to buy me 1 sixes of Pete's Strawberry Blonde.

Killian's Irish Red. Not a beer I reach for much today but it was my go to when I was in college

Hoegaarden. The whole reason I got into craft. Still have some here and there. As good as it was the very first time.

The original Frankenmuth Brewing Co. (ex-Geyer Bros.) was still operating at the time, wasn't it? I used to go to Detroit for work and had the hotel bar stock it for me (they'd bring it over by the sixpack from the in-house Japanese restaurant, which did serve it :astonished:).

I admit it freely: Guinness was my first beer love.

She was great back in the day (circa 1999), a hefty 4.7%, then she lost weight and wasn't the same after that - I like 'em big you see

Hands down, it's Black Tuesday. I love the strong boozy and sweet. Some people say it's too much, for me it's the perfect dessert beer to share with a friend.

Beck's was my beer before I discovered Sam Adams, the first beer I truly loved. Now I can't see why I liked Beck's. Maybe because the sulphur taste was better than no taste.

Elysian Brewing Immortal IPA. This beer started my "IPA" craze, which eventually snowballed into a love or appreciation of all styles. With that being said, I have not drank this beer in quite some time and Elysian has since been acquired by AB. I have no idea if the recipe remained the same after the owner/brew master of Elysian resigned after the purchase. I am not planning on revisiting this anytime soon since I choose to not support AB.

Killians was a decent brew when it was first introduced, and actualy marketed as an
'ale' (and tasted like one) ...then, Coors went and changed the recipe, and it was downhill from there.

Pretty sure I answered this before but..... It's ice cold IRON CITY BEER for me! Drank bathtubs full of the stuff in the 80's. Craft exoctic as hell beer was Moosehead for $12-14 a case for 12 oz. bottles when I was rollin in the cash. If not a $8 case of Iron did the duty....
