    115,200 could get you:

Two sweet years salaries for two employees and two registers.

Which will make them the same amount in less time as well as make all of the people giving them that money so much happier!

I'm no businessman but hey, that's my 2c.

That is quite a number, though very much just just a number unless/until we have an idea of the cost of production.

I'm not a brewer/homebrewer, nor do I have any idea of the financials of Tired Hands or any other brewery, for that matter. But for all the talk of breweries like TH, Tree House, Trillium, etc. price gouging, I don't necessarily see the brewers/owners living as opulently as some of these figures might suggest they should be--which leads me to believe that these prices are reflections of the insane cost of developing new recipes with unprecedented amounts of high-quality ingredients.

I mean, think of the Strawberry Double Shake, for instance. They say they added 2.5x the amount of fruit that they normally would for a double shake. I have no idea how much that actually is, but I do know that a carton of high-quality strawberries runs me at least $3.99 here in NYC, often more than that when they're out of season. Add to that the cost of vanilla beans, lactose sugar, a surely ridiculous amount of oats, green apples, and wheat flour--plus the standard four ingredients--and I can start to see how the cost of producing such a beer would necessitate the high price tag.

On the other hand, this line of thinking doesn't apply as much to their "four-ingredient-only" hoppy beers, so if the price on those is rising as well, maybe TH is just testing the boundary on what customers are willing to pay!

I thought it was called "a Fool who Thought this Was the Actual Name, But Someone was Just Being a Smart Ass while the Other was being a Dumb Ass" or "afwTtWtANBSwJBaSAwtOwbaDA"

    but thanks for the help!

**after some digging, I found it was called Hunter Vanilla**

    Agreed

Yeah, they probably aren't buying yachts, but based on Instagram, they are flying around the country/world for collaboration brews and beerfests. Which has the advantage of being written off as business costs. If they are smart, their expansions are being done with low/no debt, which doesn't translate into current profits, but will down the road.

Given the mixed results, and weekly new beers, I don't think they are doing many test batches to develop recipes.

If they are paying for "high quality" fruit, that doesn't make much sense. For brewing all you need is "seconds" - bulk from farmers/orchards of the bruised and over-ripe stuff they can't sell to customers.

Those prices have been raised as well, so it's definitely a supply/demand situation - conscious customers refusing to buy is the only way to see lower prices.

I think we're a long, long way from seeing the beginning of this point...

I am pretty sure they don't use real fruit in these milkshakes, they use fruit extract, like these:

I've never seen crates of actual fruit piled up in the back of the Ferm. Have you?

I think its very possible that some brewery owners are making a whole lot of money right now. I would not be surprised at all if I found out Jean was making over $10 million/year. I'd be happy for him too. Just like my favorite musicians and artists, they create things that I love and I want to live in a world where they're rewarded for what they do. It seems pretty absurd to me that the cost of fruit/production is anywhere near the $100k+ that they gross from a can release like this though.

Went for lunch today and picked up a 4 pack of Gatherer. They had a handful left.

Have they ever canned Wish Fulfillment? I really liked that one.
