It is funny how "the world doesn't need another IPA" when really every tasting room really needs a couple (plus a pilsner or 2)

Tell that to Monks and Bruery.

These guys are having their first can release this Friday. Anybody interested? Yes? No? Maybe?

I'll be stopping by. The description sounds appealing (8.5% Citra, Mosaic and Belma hazy DIPA). Plus, it's the closest brewery to my house, so the convenience is a bonus.

I stopped by Stereo a few weeks back. I figured since it's within 2 miles from home, I should probably go and check it out. Nice little spot, clean, decent enough vibe. The beer was good. The only thing I worry about with them is they don't seem to have that beer or two that will draw people in. Everything was really basic (which is totally ok) and tasted good. Once they get comfortable with what they're making, I'd love to see them start to get really creative and make some experimental stuff.

I saw that Chapman also released their first can over the weekend.

Been to Stereo twice so far. Might have to check em out again. But damn I got so many great IPA's already. It's the can revolution.

Their IG post says that Modern Lovers will also be available on draft when cans go on sale. So we'll have the option of tasting it before deciding whether or not to buy cans. This is a nice option as opposed to buying cans blindly. Especially considering that it's their first canned release.

    Haven't been since their opening
I haven't been back since their grand opening but that was my general feel of the place as well. Nice space, decent beers but there wasn't anything really there that compelled me to go back. A lot of the recent breweries that opened left me feeling that way, actually.

Gunwhales, Asylum, All-American Ale Works and the like. Solid beers but nothing that stands out really.

I've been to most of the new brewery's in OC. Stereo twice. I like the feel. I like that they have vinyl and you can bring in your own albums for them to play. My problem is I have BwHB and RiiP 2 miles in each direction from me. And don't go there with Four Boys (or is it Suns?) & Da Doooods. I don't. I don't drink and drive so I don't need to go into other parts of town to have this and that when I already got BWHB. But I will occasionally venture off into the deep end and try it. The next time I'm in the area I will stop in. There's only a handful in the OC that I will travel to get cans/crowlers/growlers/bottles. All the other guys are good but again I don't need every single god damn beer in my collection. It's good for the community. It's good for the people who live close by those other places. Some of them are probably saying the same thing about RiiP & BW. And the local HB residents are into the Four Suns and the Doooods. Good for them.

Yeah, in a time with so many options, it's crucial to have that beer or two that I can get NOWHERE else. Nothing is wrong with their quality, but these days, just having a solid lineup and beers made to style isn't necessarily enough.

Yep. Stopped by earlier for a taster and some cans. Wonderful aroma, and the initial taste is decent. However, the finish falls off with a lingering, harsh bitterness that kept me from purchasing more than one 4-pack. Not a bad beer, but it could still use some work in smoothing out the finish.

Can release today. Their 3rd canned hazy IPA , and the best of the bunch so far. They call it a hazy IPA, but I found it to be more of a west coast/hazy hybrid. Regardless, I really enjoyed it. Worth checking out.
