+1 to Broccoli being the only good looking one.

With that said, I feel like I need to max out on glasses

I'm absolutely skipping this one. Not to knock Trillium or Monkish, but OH has been putting out some killer beers on their own. I just can't justify going through all this for the hype. I'll wait for next week.

Not to mentions you will be able to get growlers of these later in the afternoon.

The artist who came up with the original Broccoli can design is a friend of mine. He was freelancing for Small Stuff (OH's design + branding agency) at the time and was personally responsible for the shift in their designs around that time (he also did Crazy/Real Talk, Dancing Green Diamonds, Fully Frothed, etc.). He stopped working with Small Stuff shortly after creating the Broccoli design and has absolutely no interest in craft beer, so he was astonished when I recently showed him how much mileage OH has gotten out of his original design (creating a whole line of veggie-inspired beers, tekus, etc.) and mentioned how much these things sell for on secondary markets. He truly didn't believe me until I showed him and still finds the whole thing absolutely absurd, especially since he sees all of these iterations as manufactured bastardizations of his idea.

Anyway, you can see his shout-out from Small Stuff in this post.. His IG handle is @br_d94 and his website is www.benross.land; give him a follow to see his actual art!

That's a very interesting story, thanks for posting it. I have kind of felt that they've been milking the 'style' of the original Broccoli design (hello, most recent stout bottles) a bit much. Small Stuff in general is pretty great, though.

If you find something that works why not milk it? They are branding and any time anyone sees that style it reminds them of their favorite Other Half beer (or the beer that everyone covets). I think it's a great idea on their part and I think breweries like Tree House with the "Curiosity series" are doing the same thing keeping with the same style but changing it up a bit with each release. I think it's hilarious that these teku glasses are so highly coveted though..

Could get stale. It's a good design but it's arguably too simple to be used again forever. How will I be able to tell apart DDH Apples from DDH Cabbage or DDH Bananas from DDH Plantains in a couple years? Hyperbole but I think it illustrates where I'm going. I'd look to Interboro as an example of something distinct and clearly 'theirs' - but you have the ability to play with things like spacing, font, color etc.

I personally think tekus are ugly to begin with, regardless of what is printed on them. I wish they would switch it up once in a while and release a snifter or a tulip with the designs.

Does OH have anything against stemmed wine glasses?

Isn't that exactly what the Teku glass is?

They like having huge lines like this. The aim isn't to get more beer in the hands of more people, the aim is to keep the hype train rolling week after week.

Yes but without the lip, like a Tørst glass or something more delicate. The Veil has been putting out a lot of nice Rastal stuff.

I don't disagree with you that eventually it could get stale, however, you milk it while the hype train is hot. You could put flaming turds on that teku glass with that design and cars would be getting towed in the McDonalds parking lot. I agree with what a lot of people here are saying - different style glasses would be nice.

I saw Burley Oak put out a beer with the 100 emoji on its label and The Veil did one with the fire emoji. Surprised those didn't make it onto Tekus!

They should make a video for this release, similar to what they did with Like Whoa. :grinning:

Is the total canning capacity 800 or 1000?

Anyway, assuming there are 400 cases of each IPA. Assume everyone gets max allotment of 40. Assume a healthy 10% line cut/re-upping somehow.

Worst case scenario is that you need to be 540ish in line to get some fully-loaded taters. That line will be way down Court street.

This'll be my first OH release. I'm hearing that people drink on the street and pee in alleys at OH releases. Is that true? Is there much sharing going on? Do people try to cut if you leave a chair in your spot to go to the bathroom? I'm pretty well accustomed with standing in line and hype, etc. Just wasn't sure how aggressive the OH people were. And yeah, I'll be there well before noon.

Is the second sentence expressing disbelief or wanting to make sure you adapt to local customs?
